"We can't see around the corner, but there are good things wailing for us." Jane's husband struggled against cancer for years while she cared for him in their Echo Hills home. "Hospice helped me," she said. "He was never in the hospital.

As she prayed, I realized the Lord still had a plan for my life." A few days later, Jane attended the group's monthly dinner meeting. "Lucille and Sarah Dunn, the director, took me under their wings.

A month later, I became editor of the newsletter for the group. This helped me keep busy and get back into the swing of life. "Christian Singles United is not a dating service as some assume," Jane said. "It's main purpose is to reach qui in love to touch lives that arT 'rinding from others in the group that diyorce.hurts more than the death of a loved one. "CSU is meet every month for dinner, a pro gram of music and a speaker.

This summer, we are going to suspend our dinner meetings and instead take short lours and have covered-dish dinners and small gatherings in members' homes. "In the beginning, CSU was primarily for senior citizens. Now we have people from their 20s to 80s. We'd like more men to come to these meetings. Women always seem to reach out in their sorrow, but men don't look for companionship." About 150 people, most of them women, attend CSU meetings, which are open to the public.

Knd Of Isolation The group put Jane In touch with others after the isolation surrounding her husband's long Illness and "I talked with other women. Although they had been widows longer than I had, they could not pick up the loose ends of their lives. They dwelt on their sorrow. I was, even before I met Albert, able to make new friends. I got a part-time job.

I was able to find new inter-' esls in life and not Just sit at home and feel sorry for myself." In November, mutual friends introduced Jane to 'Albert Isenhof a retired land developer who lives in Leicester. His wife had died in June. "I might say that meeting him just changed my life completely, because he introduced me to things I had never experienced before. He lives In the country and we walked In the woods, waded In the creek and petted the cows. "He just enjoys God's creation so much," Jane continued.

"He has three sons and I have three daughters. We plan to travel a lot. We are going to Alaska on our honeymoon." Jane credits CSU with giving her the support to resume life when she had given up. "Two members of CSU are going to participate in our wedding. The organist at Oak Forest Presbyterian Church, Helen Rosner, Is going to play the organ.

Floral designer Retly Hyman is going to do all the bouquets." For more information on CSU, contact Surah Dunn, 274-2607. Margaret Eleanor Ivey, Duke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David P. Ivey of AsheviUe.
