Vital statistics 12 Kokomo (Ind.) Monday, Sept. 17, 1990 'LA. best drama series; Ted Danson finally wins Emmy PASADENA, calif. "L.A. Law" won the Emmy for belt drama aeries for the third time in four years, "Murphy Browrt" was named best comedy and the acclaimed "Twin Peaks," nominated 14 times, managed only two technical trophies, Ted Danson, the skirt-chasing bartender Sam Malone on "Cheers," finally won as best comedy series actor Sunday night after being nominated eight times every year the NBC show has been on the air.

And Candice Bergen of CBS' "Murpy Brown" Won best actress as the acid- tongued newswoman for a second consecutive year. In a big signoff for "The Tracey Uliman Show," the British comedian's program grabbed the most awards at the 42nd annual Emmys with six. Uliman, who pulled the plug on the little-watched show last spring, won Fox Broadcasting Co. its first Emmys last year. "Oh, blimey, this brings it all full circle," said Miss Uliman, honored with a pair of Emmys in the music-variety category for her work as star and a writer.

brilliant "Columbo" earned him the dramatic actor award his fourth Emmy for the role of the trenchcoat-wearlng detective he created during the '70s. Patricia Wettig, who plays a cancer- stricken young mother on ABC's "thirtysomething," won the best dramatic actress trophy. "I would really like to thank all the women with cancer who have shared their stories with me so wholeheartedly," a teary Miss Wettig said. 'I shared their insights and their fears. I truly salute their courage." Despite 14 nominations, CBS' "Twin Peaks," the strange new series about murder in a Northwest logging town, captured only two technical trophies for editing and costuming.

Both were given in a non-televised ceremony Saturday. Emmy winners listed Instead, NBC's "L.A. Sunday, Sept. 16, 1990, in Saint Joseph Hospital Health Center. He was born March 19, 1918, in Kokomo, the son of James G. and Mable (Armstrong) Haworth. Nov.

8,1942, he married Betty J. Jackson, who survives. Haworth had worked as a older at Haworth mechanic, working at several service stations. He was a member and past worthy president of Eagle Lodge 255. Also surviving are a son, Gerald Haworth of Kokomo; two daughters, Judith Peterson of Maggie Valley, N.C., and Anita Sommers of Kokomo; a sister, Harriet Trueblood of Kokomo; 10 grandchildren; andastepgrandson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in fillers Mortuary. The Rev. A.D. "Sam" Stevens will officiate.

Burial will be in South Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Loren Wolf FLORA, Ind.

Loren A. Wolf, 87, Flora R.R. 1, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16,1990, in Brethren Home.

He was born April 28, 1903, in Carroll County, a son of John and Nancy (Flora) Wolf. In 1925, he married Martha L. Fraling, who died in 1981. A retired farmer, Wolf was a member of Flora Old German Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Lowell and Paul Wolf, both of Phoenix, and Wayne Wolf of Flora R.R.

three daughters, Ruth Burns of Flora, Esther Huser of Albuquerque, N.M., and Evelyn Riffey of Lapel; three brothers, Jesse and Chester Wolf, both of Piermont, and Noah Wolf of Flora; two sisters, Mary Eller of Rossville and Orpha Miller of Homestead, 20 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. A daughter and a brother preceded him in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Flora Old German Baptist Church. Home brethren will officiate.

Burial will be in in Maple Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Reinke Funeral Home. Joseph Jones Joseph E. Jones, 32, formerly of 528 E.

Jackson died at 15:22 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 115, 1990, in Forest Park Healthcare Center. He was born Sept. 7, 1958, in Kokomo, a son of Booker T.

and Lena (Stringer) Jones. An Army veteran, Jones was a 1978 graduate of Haworth High School. He attended New Bethel Tabernacle and was a member of American Legion Post 177. Surviving are his father of Kokomo; three brothers, Noris, Freddie and Donald Jones, all of Kokomo; and two sisters, Debra McClullum and Marcia James, both of Kokomo. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Fountain of Life Worship Center. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Jones Herman Lange COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. Herman C. Lange, 80, Columbia City, died Saturday, Sept. 15,1990, in Whitley County Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan.

24, 1910, in Delaware County the son of Frank and Viola Lange. Lange was raised in Muncie, then lived in Eaton until 1969 when he moved here. He retired in 1970 from Warner Gear Division in Muncie after 35 years of service. He was a gear cutter. He was a member of Eaton United Methodist Church and Warner Gear Sympathy Club.

In April 1935, he married Clara Wandelle, who survives with three sons, Lee 0. Lange of Kokomo, Leslie Lange of Muncie and Larry Lange of Marion; a sister, Victoria Lange of Warren; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pitman-Richman Funeral Home at Eaton. The Rev.

David Henry will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery at Eaton. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
