Three Games Will Launch Action At City Auditorium nnnnTP Buncombe Tourney Begins Wednesday Night SUNDAY, FEB. 20, 1964 combe and Enka. Both drew first round byes however, will be bidding to unseat North Buncombe as county tourney champs. The schedule for Wednesday night has play starting at 1:00 p. m. with a game matching the Roberson girls against the Reynolds sestet At 7:30 the North Buncombe girls meet Enka and at 0:00 p. m.

The teams in the top bracket will wear the white jerseys and sit on the, left of the scorer's table and the teams in the bottom bracket will wear dark jerseys and sit at the right of the scorer's table. In girls competition upper bracket teams are Owen, Roberson and Reynolds and lower are Erwin, North Bun Saturday. Owen's girls won regular season honors In Buncombe with a 10-0 record while Erwin took the boys crown with an S-0 mark.

The Warlassies were 194 against all competition this season and currently own a 41-game win streak. They are defending champions in the girls division. Erwin was 19-1 for the regular season. The Warriors, as a basis of their having regular season honors and as the result of there being only six teams in each tourney field. The No.

2 seeded teams in each category Erwins' girls and North Buncombe's boys will not see action until Friday night. The Buncombe County Athletic Committee, consisting entirely of principals of the various schools, drew op and unanimously adopted the tourney pairings at a meeting Saturday morning at The Citizen-Times. The draw was based on the number of games won and lost in the county and the number of county games played. In one way the schedule leaves something to be desired. Three of Asheville's five off days are Sundays, traditionally a "money" day for most clubs in the league. Hoever. Asheville will play It Sundays at home and only seven on the road. But the schedule favors Asheville early.

The Tourists play only two home games in April when the weather usually is roughest. They have It home games in May. 11 in June. 18 in July. 13 in August, and five in September.
