Since 1946 Graham Aldis, 70, Chicago real estate man and civic SET IN ATTACK ON HOUSEWIFE Bonds totaling $40,000 were set yesterday for George Sibley, 29, of 2733 W. 23d st, who was dressed, as a woman when he was arrested "Wednesday night for robbing a north side housewife. Mrs. Catherine Axelrod, 33, 750 Junior told police that Sibley followed her for several blocks, then grabbed her from behind and forced her to take him to her apartment after hitting her on the head with a pistol.

While paying her babysitter, Mrs. Axelrod told her to call police. Sibley allegedly took $14 from Mrs. Axelrod and tid her with neckties. Sibley fled as police arrived.

They caught him in an alley at 815 Montrose av. Sibley, an unemployed electrician, later was identified as the man in woman's clothing who raped and robbed an 18-year-old. He was charged with two counts of robbery, burglary, and rape. A Febny court hearing was continued to May 18. NILES GIRL, 6, KILLED BY CAR OUTSIDE HOME Lynna Blankinshys, 6, of 6628 Harts Niles, was killed last night when she was struck by an auto in front of her home.

The car was driven by Rudolph Beaird, 9515 Bryn Mawr Rosemont. Beaird was driving west when the accident occurred, police said. Beaird was charged with failing to exercise caution for a pedestrian. He will appear May 20 in the Niles court. Boy Killed by Auto Michael Regan, 5, of 914 W.

129th st, was struck and killed by an auto yesterday as he crossed the street in the middle of the block at 12820 Halsted st. The driver of the car, James C. Green, 35, of 15030 Grant st, Dolton, was charged with striking a pedestrian and ordered to appear May 24 in Traffic court. Killed by Train Earl E. Leets, 50, of White Oak Crown Point, was killed yesterday when his car Gerald; brother of Houston and Howard Gerald.

Aldis Joseph Richard Kowal Joseph Richard Kowal, 54, of 1711 Augusta sports editor of the Polish Daily Zgoda, 1201 Milwaukee for 30 years, died yesterday in his home. Mrs. Theodore W. Markworth Services for Mrs. Margaret Markworth, 78, of 1622 Walnut Des Plaines, who died of injuries received in an auto accident Wednesday night, will be held at 1:30 p. m.

tomorrow in the Immanuel Lutheran church, Des Plaines. She was the wife of Theodore W. Mark-worth, teacher and principal of the Immanuel Lutheran school until his retirement in 1957. Other survivors include three sons, Harold, Roland, and Kenneth; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Prif-ogle and Mrs.

tomorrow in the chapel at 5501 N. Ashland av. Mr. Drew died Wednesday evening in his home. He had retired in 1954 as manager of the Broadway branch of the Cadillac Motor Car division at 5201 Broadway, after 23 years with the company.

Mrs. Fred Rondeau Mrs. Caroline Rondeau, 70, of 655 Grand Waukegan, former operator of two children's clothing stores in Waukegan, died yesterday in Victory Memorial hospital. Services will be held at 11 a. m.

Duncan O. Welty Duncan O. Welty, 70, of 345 Rosewood Winnetka, president of Welty -Field building restaurant, 130 S. Clark died yesterday in Evanston hospital. Private services will be held tomorrow.

S. Highway 30 in Dyer, Ind. Dyer Police Chief Raymond Oliver said Leets' car skidded 26 feet before crashing into the engine, which was going about 45 miles an hour. Auto Swept Along Track The auto was carried 1,500 feet down the track before the train could stop. Leets was a buyer for the Northern Indiana Public Service company.

Wife a Novelist His wife, Dorothy, is a novelist and has written stories and books of verse for children. She was the daughter of the late James former vice president of the Pullman company and managing editor of The Tribune from 1898 to 1914. Services will be held at 4 p. m.

UNION CREATES BELL COUNCIL, TELLS 4 GOALS Formation of a national Bell council was announced yesterday by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The new council's first job is to seek four contract improvements for the union's 800.000 telephone workers in the Bell system. M. D. Murphy, director of the IBEW telephone division, said delegates to a three-day conference in Chicago pledged "united effort even to the extent of a nation-wide strike if necessary to gain our objectives." Murphy said the contract improvements to be sought include wage increases, shortening of the wage progression scale, full payment of hospitalization insurance, and elimination of wage zoning.

Boschelli, acting postmaster and director of operations, ordered postal inspectors to investigate the arrest of Melvin Baker, 50, of 7420 Prairie a parcel post worker arrested as head of the Captain Green Dragon Ghost gambling wheel. Boschelli said he would decide what to do about Baker's continued employment as a civil service worker as soon as he gets the inspectors' report. Meanwhile, officials of the Job Opportunity Thru Better Skills program, a federally-supported agency at 75 E. Wacker also opened an inquiry into the arrest of Baker's wife, Lenora. Mrs.
