No Resignation Yet Sheehan planned to have the Cook county committee fill vacancies for 36th ward committeeman and Rich township committeeman. But he has not received Hayes Robertson's written resignation as Rich township leader.

"Robertson was county chairman for two years and be knows how these things are supposed to be done," Sheehan told The Tribune. "If he expects to come into the Bismarck hotel meeting and resign from the floor, I might get my dander up." Sheehan said the Rich township organization favors State Sen. Arthur R. Gottschalk of Forest Park to succeed Robertson. Sheehan said he has promised to provide some speaking time for Negro ward committeemen to talk in favor of open occupancy legislation.
