Eventually he would like to see two parks in the city, one on the east side and one In the center. Roads In the Brookside Subdivision would be another major consideration if the HUD money Is granted. A major force in the Mexican-American Community, according lo Carler. Is the Progress Civic Club.

The city also has an active Volunteer Fire Department. VFD Ladies Auxiliary and a Lions Club. The only school is Brooksi3c Elementary. Intermediate and High School students attend school In Pearland. The city of Brookside Village covers approximately two square miles bounded by Clear Creek on the North.
