W. Baumgardner Services for Thomas William Baumgardner, 36, of Sardis Asheville Rt. 3, who died Sunday in an Asheville hospital, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Anders Rice Funeral Home. The Rev.

E. H. Miller and Elder C. E. Bishop will officiate and burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be H. P. Stroup L. E. Pinkerton, Richard Rhymer, and Lawrence, Lloyd and Bobby Brooks.

Mrs. Jessie Morris Mrs. Jessie Morris of 136 Pine died Sunday in an Asheville nursing home. Services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p. m.

in Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Board of Deaconesses and a member of the senior missionary society. The Rev. N. M.

Hattie Miller Mrs. Hattie Mae Miller, 49, of 2 Smathers Lane, died Sunday night enroute to an Asheville hospital. She was a native of Polk County and had lived in Asheville for the past 18 years. She was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church. Surviving are the husband, Clarence Miller; one daughter, Miss' Sharon Lucille Miller of the home; four sons, Clarence Dupree, Herbert Lee, and Weldon of Newark, N.

two sisters, Miss Bulene Avery of Greensboro and Mrs. Lynette Miller of Asheville; six brothers, George of Portsmouth, Isaac of Tryon, Leroy and Paul of Boston, Jacob of Gastonia, and Napoleon Avery of and eight grandchildren. Parnell Walter S. Parnell, 38, of Charlotte, died Sunday in a Buncombe County hospital after a brief illness. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Helen Lawson of West Russell, Ky.

Jones, 21, who died Saturday night in an Asheville hospital from injuries in a car wreck, will be held at 10:30 a. m.

Andrew Reid CELO J. Andrew Reid, 71. retired farmer, died in a Winston-Salem Hospital morning after a short illness. A native of Georgia, he lived in Avery County for 22 years before moving to Yancey County eight years ago. He survived by the widow.

Earl Williams of Waynesville; three sons, Ervin of Winter Haven, Thurman of Morganton, and Willard of Jewel Ridge, two brothers; one sister; 19 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. in Brown's Creek Baptist Church. The Rev.

died suddenly in Liberty, S. C. Sunday. He was a native of Macon County. He was the son of Horace and Beulah Houston Justice and was married to the former Miss Ruby Nicholson.

He had been a textile worker for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Tesenta Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II, with the U. S. Navy from 1941-1945. L. Ray of Horse Shoe; a brother, Ted R. Ray of Hendersonville; Dr. Jack Dies At 82 LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) Dr.

Theodore Henley Jack, president emeritus of Randolph-Macon Woman's College, died Sunday at his home here. He was 82. A native of Alabama, Dr. Jack received his B.A. and M.A.

from the University of Alabama and an M.A. from Harvard University. He held honorary degrees from Birmingham Southern University, George Washington University and Tulane University, and the Universities of Alabama and Chattanooga. Before coming to RandolphMacon in 1933, he was vice president of Emory University in Atlanta. During his long career he had served as president of the Georgia Association Colleges, the of Virginia Colleges and the Southern Association of College and Secondary Schools.

He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa scholastic fraternity and served as a consultant to the Membership Qualifications Committee. Dr. Jack was married in 1910 to Alice Cearcy Ashley of Tuscaloosa, who survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Charles Davis Hurt of Atlanta and Mrs. George B.

Craddock of Lynchburg, one brother and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Court Street Methodist Church here with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Lyon, formerly of Canton, and director of pulp manufacturing for Champion Papers in Hamilton, Ohio, addressed the monthly meeting of the Engineers Society of WNC Monday night in and Cafeteria.

Recent engineering and management developments 1 in the pulp and paper industry were discussed by Lyon. He related these developments to special plans for modernization and expansion of the paper mill at Canton.
