Thursday, December 22, 1932 JEFFERSON CITY POST-TRIBUNE Society, Women's Clubs, Dances LEOLA MAE MILLER, Editor Phone 5000 Society Lengnecker Circle Members Entertained with Party Tlie fourteen members of the Longnecker Circle of the First Presbyterian Church were entertained with a lovely Christmas party yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. A. E. Longneeker, 934 Moreau Drive. tXThe Christmas lesson from Luke read by Miss Mabel Green.

This followed by Christmas quotations given by each guest present. During the afternoon Christmas gifts were exchanged among the members. The Longneeker home was attractively decorated with Christmas suggestions including a lovely decorated Christmas tree. A two course luncheon was served by Mrs. Long- neeker at the close of the afternoon.

Pouring coffee in the dining room was Mrs. Henry Schmidt. The serving table was centered with an electric lighted poinsetfca. Mr. and Mrs.

C. E. Stuckey of Vista Place have as their house guest Mrs. Stuckey's mother, Mrs. I.

A. McClellan of Kansas City. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Gallemore of 1405 West Mccarty Street have as their house guests Mrs Gallemore's mother, Mrs.

George Leslie Walker of Lawrence, Kans. Mrs. Walker's sister, Mrs. Myron S. Eyer of Colorado is also a guest in the Gallemore home.

Dinner Party To Be yHeld at HcHiway Home xs. Harold Holliway and Miss race McManus will entertain with a 6 o'clock dinner this evening in honor of their sister, Mrs. J. J. O'Neal, who is celebrating her birthday anniversary.

The dinner will be arranged at the home of Mrs. Holliway, 12 East Mccarty Street. Miss Mary Harrison will leave Friday for Carthage where she will spend the Christmas holidays with relatives. i Bryan Jackson, student at the Missouri Valley College at Marshall, has arrived home to spend the Christmas holidays with his parents, Rev. and Mrs.

A. B. Jackson. Davis Jackson, who attends the University of Missouri, arrived homo Wednesday afternoon to spend the vacation period with his parents, Rev and Mrs. Jackson.

Mr. Pemberton Gordon has gone to Kansas City to spend Christmas with Mrs. Gordon and their daughter, Martha Ann. Mr. and Mrs.

Irwin, 1600 West Main Street Miss Irwin will be in Jefferson City until Tuesday, January 3. Dr. and Mrs. James Stewart will leave tomorrom afternoon for Sedalia where they will spent Christmas with their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Airs.

Charles Van Dyne and young daughter. Dr. and Mrs Stewart will return to Jefferson Cit.y Monday or Tuesday. Musical Program Xo Be Repeated Sunday Morning The Christmas musical program, which was presented last Sunday morning at the Central Evangelical Church, was so well received that the program will be repeated this Sunday. The program will be presented at the same time, 11 o'clock.

Members of the church choir participate in the program. Miss Marie Sinclair left today for Boonville where she will spend the Christmas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sinclair and family. Mrs.

H. O. Smith of Los Angeles daughter of Judge and Mrs' girimon Ing of Columbia, has been rS-isiting in the Capital City. Mrs. Smith before her marriage was Miss Floy Ing.

Charles Koester and Prank Landwehr, students at the St. Louis Preparatory Seminary in St. Louis, ar rived in Jefferson City Wednesday to spend the holidays with their parents. Miss Emma D. Holland will leave Saturday for Poplar Bluff to spend the Christmas vacation -with her parents.

Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Lane and son Richard, of Chicago will arrive here this evening to spend the Christmas holidays with Mr.

Lane's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lane of School Street. Mrs. Arthur Lane's brother, Mr.

L. S. Donnell and daughter Patsy, also Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. L.

E. Bessett of St. Louis will also be holiday guests in the Lane home. Mrs. A.

Guyot, 213 East McCarty Street, will have as her Christmas guests her son and daughter-in-law Dr. and Mrs. J. D. Guyot of Sedalia AQr.

and Mrs. Guyot will arrive in UTefferson City Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. E.

J. Manning and Mrs. Manning's mother, Mrs. H. L.

Wood left this morning for Louisville, Kentucky spend the Christmas holidays with relatives. They will return to Jefferson City in Sbout three weeks. Seven o'clock Dinner Held at Lotus Lantern Tea Room The girls who are employed in the Attorney General's office, and a number of former employees, held a clock dinner last evening at the Lantern Tea Room. V- if CliiJi Supper Enjoyed by Members of G. A. A. A chili supper was enjoyed last evening by twenty-five members of the Girl's Athletic Association of the Senior High School. The supper was held at the home of the association sponsor.

Miss Rachel Brennelsen, in Forest Hill. The members hiked to the Bren- neiscn home for the supper after which games were enjoyed. At the close of the evening the members hiked back to their homes. i Last Meeting- of Year Held Park A. The last meeting for this year of the School A.

The topic for discussion was "Clothing in Relation to Health." At the Christmas program the parents and children sang Christmas songs under the direction of Miss Holtman. The pupils of the first, second, and third grade also gave several special Christmas songs. Miss Prances Reno played a violin solo. Miss Virginia Reno was her accompanist. Christmas songs were also sung by pupils of the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades.

The Girl Scouts, troop NO 10 presented the Park A. with tea towels for the lunch room. Christmas Program Held by Mary Carrington Circle Mrs Bowen Ward was hostess yesterday afternoon to members of the Mary Carrington Circle of the Capitol Avenue Christian Church at her home, 411 Lafayette Street A short Christmas program was presented during the afternoon including readings by Mrs. Vema Morrow and Mrs. Harry Elliott At the close of the afternoon 'luncheon was served by Mrs.

Fromme, on Schott Road. ft Christmas Meeting Held by Anna Lindner Circle Members of the Anna Lindner Circle of the Capitol Avenue Christian Church enjoyed their annual Christinas party yesterday afternoon, at the home of Mrs, S. Shammel, 1428 West Main Street. Mrs. George Huston was the leader of the missionary program which followed the short business meeting.

Mrs. A. G. Lindner, vice- president of the circle, presided at the business meeting. Miss Sarah Jane Jose gave a beautiful Christmas reading, "The Chimes." At the close of the afternoon luncheon was served.
