Kildare av. were greeted MOTORISTS WISE SIMONIZ by 150 relatives and friends recently on their golden wedding when an open house was held in the family to Restore New Car Beauty council plans to launch similar work in other neighborhoods where population is predomninat-ly of Italian extraction.

An important phase of the council's work is the granting of scholarships to outstanding high school graduates of Italian descent. This year 10 scholarships will be awarded. Other Activities Cited The council, in addition, helps young persons accused of delinquency to adjust themselves to normal community life. It maintains and operates summer camps for boys and girls. Every season about 1,000 needy children have a two week vacation free of charge.

The council and its grass roots organizations also are aided by the Chicago Area Project and the Institute for Juvenile Research. Anthony Sorrentino is consultant-director of the Italian Welfare council. Officers are Adam P. Vig-nola, J. I.

Bulger, Frank Esposito, Dario L. Toffenetti, and Michael R. Fortino, vice presidents; Vincent E. Ferrara, secretary, and Vincent P. Russo, treasurer.

The board of directors includes State Rep. Adduci 2d, Frank Aliotta, Frank Annunzio, Edward A. Bragno, Dr. A. J.

Lendino, A. V. Champagne, Frank Chesrow, Peter Fosco, J. M. Lavezzorio, Michael R.

Notaro, George J. Spa-tuzzo, and Judges John J. Lupe and John A. Sbarbaro of the Superior court. ITALIAN GROUP GRANTSS7.250 TO FOUR UNITS Italian Welfare council recently voted grants totaling $7,250 to four of its affiliated organizations two on the west side and one in each of the north and northwest areas of Chicago.

The West Side Community committee, 1033 Polk received $2,750, of which $750 is earmarked for its new subcommittee, the Western Avenue Civic committee, while $2,000 went to the Lawndale Community committee, 4001 Fillmore st. The North Side Civic committee, 1501 N. Hudson was allocated $2,000, and the Northwest Civic committee, 539 N. Ogden $500. Community Center Lawndale Community committee recently was granted permission by Police Commissioner Prendergast to use facilities of the Fillmore st.
