According to the account given police by witnesses up to now, the first bullet was fired while the woman still stood In the bathroom. The bullet passed thru the upright back of the toilet seat seven feet away after Mrs. Goodbody ducked. Crime detection laboratory experts assert powder marks on the toilet seat prove the gun could not have been fired more than 18 inches away. The second bullet 'which, according to the present version, was fired from the bathroom door, pierced the door of a clothes closet.

Investigators assert that a heavy powder smudge on the door and the angle of the bullet's entry prove the gun was almost against the door when it was discharged and that it was fired squarely at the door and not from the angle of the bathroom. Third Out the Window. The third bullet passed thru a window and was found imbedded in the facing of a window in another wing of the hoteL. According to the present account, the killer was near the center of the room when this shot was fired. The course of the bullet, however, proves it must have been fired while the assassin was standing near a wall, since it passed thru the window pane at a sharp angle, the crime laboratory operatives insist.

The fourth and last bullet entered Mrs. Williams skull above the right eye. All indications are that there was a violent struggle for the revolver, which apparently was held high and pointed slightly downward at the instant of discharge, according to Lt- John Quinn of the Chicago avenue police, who was the first policeman to reach the scene. No Struggle Mentioned. In the account given police, however, no struggle was mentioned.

There were deep powder burns on the victim's chest and between the thumb and finger of the left hand. Here also there was an abrasion which might have been made, police said, by the pistol's sight if Mrs. Williams had seized the gun by the barrel and it had been jerked away. There probably were powder marks on the victim's forehead, but heavy makeup might have kept them from registering on the flesh, the investigators believe. The daughter also was found to have powder burns between the thumb and finger of the left hand.
