B. Huber, both of Wesley. The ceremony was performed in the presence of a host of friends. Mr. and Huber start out in life with the best wishes of a large circle of friends.

The happy couple were the recipients of many handsome and useful presents during the day and in the evening the event was celebrated by an old time dance at the homo of the brides parents. Ben Hopkins is the recipient of a bran new baby girl which came to his home last Sunday and on the selfsame clay Kernan was made the happy father of a bouncing boy. There is much talk of re-taking the census of Wesley as it is evident our assessor in his present enumeration skipped quite a number. Mayor Barrett and Recorder Gallagher sat in the mayor's office the other day and with pencil and paper counted over 600 in- habitantsin ourtown. Wesley should have a correct count.

If our people don't raise a good crop of potatoes this year, it will not be because Obed has failed to supply them with an excellent looking variety for seed. E. Mrs. Winterrnute is at Manly Junction attending the funeral of her sister. The Presbyterian church is being papered and cleaned. Rev. Everts left Wednesday for Dubuque for a short visit.

Swindled a Farmer. An unknown man swindled Shipley King, a farmer living near Mt. Pleasant, out of $1,200 Monday. He left what purported to be $9,000 in a box in a bank as security, which proved when opened, to be empty. The man disappeared with a livery team immediately after the transaction and thus far has eluded arrest.
