A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Albert S. and Sally Young Moore and the wife of Austin D. Hensley, who died in 1976. She was a former employee of American Enka Corp.

Moore of Asheville; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Tuesday at the funeral home. JRev. Arthur McPeters Larry Conard Sr. CANTON Larry Allen Conard 38, of 128 Hilltop Circle, died Monday in a Haywood County hospital A native of Haywood County, he was a son of James H. and Ruby Ford Conard of Canton.

He was employed as a security guard and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Neonda Leonard Conard; a son, Larry Allen Conard Jr. of the home; two sisters, Geral-dine Cook of Canton and Barbara Jean Stephenson of Hendersonvllle; and four brothers, Bobby Joe Conard of Maggie Valley, Charles Lee Conard of Canton, Howard R. Conard of Randleman and James Conard of Thomasvllle. Services will be at 2 p.m.

Clarence Owenbey HENDERSONVILLE ciar-ence Howard "Mutt" Owenbey, 75, of Route 6, died Monday in a Fletcher nursing center. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Russell and Mattie Connor Owenbey and retired from Wellington Puritan Mills. Surviving are his wife, Pearl Davis Owenbey; a son, John Owenbey of Hendersonville; three daughters, Etta Mae Corn and Jewel Pace of Hendersonvllle and Helen Wiggins of Etowah; four brothers, Paul Ben, Carl and Herman Owenbey, all of -Black Mountain; three sisters, Preston and Bonnie Summey of Black Mountain and Bertha Bailey of Bat Cave; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ebenezer Baptist Church, of which he was a member.

Gus D. Hedden Gus D. Hedden, 72, of Fowler Mountain Road, Candler, died Monday in an Asheville hospital A native of Jackson had lived in Buncombe County since 1949. He was a son of the late Benjamin and Fannie Wood Hedden and retired from the Department of Transportation. Surviving are his wife, Lpja Berry Hedden; two daughters, Annie Davis of Charleston, S.C, and Karen Subriena Hedden of Lake Junaluska; three sons, Marvin Hedden of Stephens City, Va, Ronnie Hedden of Miles, Texas, and Jerry Hedden' pf Candler; two sisters, Ora Berry of Candler and Lela Patterson of Norwich, a brother, Jack Hedden of Franklin; and eight grandchildren.

By JOHN PARRIS Senior Editor LAKE JUNALUSKA A task force created by Western North Carolina Tomorrow to appraise the con- troversial issue of outdoor advertis-' ing in the region presented its recommendations in a final report here Monday. The members of the 17-county -leadership council, without dissent, adopted the report with its 12 recommendations that "we feel reflect both I economic and environmental con-'cems," chairman Constance Haire of Sylva said.

"It is our hope," she said, "that their implementation will serve to benefit all the people of our region." Verne O. Lankford HOT SPRINGS Verne O. Lankford, 95, of S. Spring Street, died Sunday in an Asheville hospital A native of Madison County, he was a retired security guard for Fastner Corp. He was an Army veteran of World War I and was a member of Zion Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Jacob and Delia Templin Lankford. Surviving are a daughter, Caroline L. Staude of Hot Springs; two sons, Winston Lankford of Hot Springs and Orrin Lankford of Petersburg, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday In the chapel of Bowman Funeral Home.

The Rev. Willene Skipper will officiate. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in National Cemetery, Hampton, Va. The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday at the funeral home. Eric W. Oakshott Private services took place in Vincentown, N.J., Sunday, for Eric W. Oakshott, physical director at Central YMCA in Indianapolis from 1952 to 1968. He died March 29 at Garden State Community Hospital in Marlton, N.J., at the age of 84.

Mr. Oak shott was born in Shoebury-ness, Essex, England, and came to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with his parents and brother, Charles, in 1907. He was a resident of Asheville from 1981-1986. OAKSHOTT His career with the YMCA spanned 43 years. Mr.

Oakshott was a deacon at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne, and Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, Ind. He was a member of the Lion's Club in Fort Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth H. Oakshott; three daughters, Carolyn M. Chappell of Mt Laurel N.J., Janet E.

Ross of Martinsville, N.J., and Rosalind F. Pehoski of West Bloomfteld, and seven grandchildren. Emma D. Adler CINCINNATI, Ohio Emma D. Adler, 83, of Cincinnati, died Sunday in Cincinnati.

A native of Pageland, S.C, she had lived in Ashevllle, N.C, for most of her life before moving to Cincinnati four years ago. She was the former operator of The Sky Club In Ashevllle. Surviving are a son, Todd Hunter of Cincinnati; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Schmidt-Dhonau Funeral Home, Cincinnati, is in charge of arrangements.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Joan Hunter McPeters; three daughters, Brenda Spencer of Hickory, Teresa Rath-burn and Tammy Briggs of Burns-ville; three sons, Jerry and Arthur McPeters Jr. of Burnsville and Grant McPeters of the home; four sisters, Jessie Landecker of Utica, N.Y, Berlin Allen of Swannanoa, Iris A. She was a member of Miami Shores Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and Miami Shores Pilot Club. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Alpha Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Organization, Arts League and Opportunity House. There are no known survivors. Services will be Thursday in Miami Fla, under the direction of Van Orsdel Mortuary. Memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Hen-dersonville.
