The Ashevtlle Cltlien, April H87 Washel Steps Down As Girls Basketball Coach At Reynolds From Staff and AP Reports Reynolds girls basketball Coach Bob Washel announced his resignation Wednesday after 14 years in charge of the Rockettes. Washel, 37, compiled 220-122 record that included a 14-9 mark this season. The year was plagued by controversy when Washel suspended six players, Including four starters, for the last half of the season for breaking school rules. Washel said his decision to resign was made before the season and was not related to the player suspensions. "This is a career move I want to finish my masters (degree) by December and I felt like I may have had too many irons in the fire and it wouldn't be fair to the program to not devote my full attention and time.

"My top priority is to procure a job in administration, and if that doesn't work out I wouldn't be opposed to coaching again."
