"I look forward to Hie time when we will have an International Music Week," he confided, "When for one week each year the harassed world may unite in the enjoyment of a common musical heritage." With the world apparently about to commit suicide, Mr. Trcmnine is still optimistic about his plan. He evolved it in 1917, nt which time ho. was acting head the National Bureau for the Advancement ot Muse, deeded that some of these weeks ought to be devoted to constructive instead of destructive forces.

So he published an article in the Musical Trade Review, broaching the scheme, nothing was ddnc until 1919 when Dallas organized a rnusc day and later St. Louis held a music week. Finally in New York had its first music week and set the example for the rest of the country to follow. Music clubs, teachers, schools, community bands, and orchestras and even little Susie, who's just learned her frst piece, all join in. Each year another aspect ot music is emphasized, and this year's slogan is "Support Group Activities."
