i a Providence, died Monday at home. He was a cliniciai associate professor of optomology at the Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, affiliated with Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Luce graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1945 and took his internship at the Hospital of the Good Samaritain in Los Angeles, the following year. He served as captain in the U.S.

Army from 1346 to 1948. Dr. Luce continued his post graduate education at the Department of Optomology at the Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania from 1950 to 1951 at which time he was appointed to the staff of the i Eye Hospital ff Philadelphia where he has served since that time. He became a Diplomat of the American Board of Optomology in 1955 and was a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His teaching appointments included the Jefferson Medical College Department of Optomology from to 1955 to 1966 and the Graduate School of University of Pennsylvania from 1955 to 1964.

He was a member of the Delaware County Medical Society, the Pennsylvania State Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the Ophathamic Society of Philadelphia, the Wills Eye Hospital Ex-residents Society, the Philadelphia County Medical Society, the Pennsylvania Academy of Optomology, the International Congress of Optomology and the Eye Section of the Philadelphia College of Physicians. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary O'Connell at home, one daughter.

who reached his 100th birthday Oct. 21, of 19 S. 13th Darby, died Sunday at Chateau Convalescent Center, Bryn Mawr, where he had been a patient about a month. Born in England, Mr. Chadwick came to the United States about 1896 and had lived in Darby since 1918.

A carpenter by trade. Mr. Chadwick retired In the late 1940s and made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Walter Simpson. Mr.

Chadwick was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. His wife, Frances, died in 1967. Besides Mrs. Simpson, he is survived by a son, C. Robert Chadwick; eight grandchildrean and 15 great-grandchildren.

and 7 to 9 p.m. Ercole Colderoni Ercole Calderoni, 81, of 100 Concord Aston, died Tuesday at home. Born in Abruzzi, Italy, Mr. Calderoni came to this country in 1914 and to Delaware County in 1942. He was retired from the Ford Motor when the company had a plant in Chester several years ago.

He was was a member of the St. Anthony's Church of Chester. Mr. Caldernoi is survived by his wife, the former Rosaria Viola, who he married in 1920. He is also survived by four sons, Edward and both of Wallingford, Anthony of Reading and Jack of Concord; four daughters, Mrs.

Elizabeth Rotiroti of Glenolden, Mrs. Nina Ferriola of Prospect Park. Mrs. Jennie DeMarco and Mrs. Julia Vitale, both of West Chester; a sister, Mrs.

Braidwood, 54, of 3702 9th Trainer, died Sunday in Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Upland after a year's illness. A professional truck driver, he was last employed by the Elgin and Central trucking companies of Philadelphia. Born In Philadelphia, he lived in Trainer for the past six years and in Marcus Hook for seven years. He was a member of Trainer United Methodist Church, the youth counselor and director of the recreation program at the church. He was a member of the church league bowling at the Bowlero Bowling Alley, Upper Chichester; the Philadelphia Salvation Army Temple and their band.

He was an army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart for wounds in the Battle of Salerno. He married the former Josephine H. Adams in 1947. He is survived by his wife; one sister, Mrs. Mary Sharkey of and one brother William Braidwood of Cinimlnson, N.J.

Born in Chester, Mrs. Dolan had lived in Delaware County all of her life. The widow of James L. Dolan, who died in 1947, she was the former Helen Leary. Surviving is a sister, Mrs.

Academy receives Kresge grant Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts announced it has received a $90,000 matching funds grant from The Kresge Foundation, Troy, which will be used to complete renovation of the Academy's auditorium. The auditorium is part of the overall restoration of the Academy's National Landmark building. One of the improvements made possible by the grant is restorative re-painting qf highly unusual and formerly hidden decorative columns in the auditorium. Completion of the restoration program is scheduled' this month. Green in opera David Lewis Green, of Pine Forge a graduate of Chester High School, was chosen for the role of the First Sailor in "The Barber of New York," a comic opera with a bicentennial theme, to be presented by the West Chester State College School of Music Thursday through Saturday in Philips Memorial Auditorium on the college campus.
