4 COMMUNITY -NORTHWEST HERALD Thursday, March 11, 1993 Victor S. 'Vic' Adams McHENRY Victor S. "Vic" Adams, 68, died Wednesday, March 10, 1993, at Northern Illinois Medical Center. He was born June 8, 1942, in Spring Grove, to Henry and Catherine (Schaefer) Adams. A lifetime resident of the area, he was a concrete finisher for Tonyan Construction Co.

for many years. For 18 years he was the proprietor of Vic's Tap on Main Street by the train depot. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Barbara Colberg, whom he married Jan. 12, 1985, in McHenry; a daughter, Sharon (John) Giels of Bensenville; two sons, William (Donna) Adams of McHenry and Dale Adams of Bensenville; three grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille (the late Alfred) Freund of McHenry.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Huff and Luella Arp. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the George R. Justen Son Funeral Home in McHenry, where the funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 13.

The Rev. Roger Schneider will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the McHenry County Heart Fund. Ivan Cvitkovic McHENRY Ivan Cvitkovic, 50, died Tuesday, March 2, 1993.

He was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Sanski Most, Bosnia, to Josip and Marija (Soric) Cvitkovic. Formerly of Waukegan, he was an entrepreneur who lived in McHenry for the past 19 years. Mr. Cvitkovic is survived by his wife, Cica (Filipovich), whom he married Dec.

21, 1963, in Waukegan; a daughter, Tanja (Roy) Cvitkovic- of Ingleside; two sons, Ivan Cvitkovic Jr. and Tedi Cvitkovic, both of McHenry; four grandchildren, Nicole, Joseph and Samantha Young, and Tiffani Cvitkovic; a brother, Peter (Marion) Cvitkovic of Gurnee; and his mother of Libertyville. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Mile; a sister, Ljuba Penov; and his father-in-law, Predrag Filipovich on Aug. 21, 1989. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m.

Thursday, March 1 11, at the George R. Justen Son Funeral Home in McHenry. Funeral Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 12, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Rev.

Gulbrandsen, 85, died Wednesday, March 10, 1993, at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge. Arrangements are pending at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home in Cary. Lillian M. Mahar HEBRON Lillian M. Mahar, 94, died COMMUNITY Tuesday, March 9, 1993, at Harvard Hometown Care Center.

She was born June 18, 1898, in Cleveland to Herman and Mary (Castner) Krueger. She married Roy T. Mahar on Sept. 17, 1917, in Wheaton. She worked for Autolite in Woodstock for 15 years as an inspector.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hebron and a member of Martha's Circle. Mrs. Mahar is survived by a sister, Marie Vanderpal of Rockford; a brother, Ralph (Vera) Krueger of Harvard; four nieces, Mary (Carl) Del Rosso of Gardena, Joan (Dexter) VanHoozen of St. Germaine, Jean Rice of Harvard and Linda (Robert) Readel of Genoa; a nephew, Richard (Roberta) Staab of Huntley; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 27, 1972; three sisters, Helen Staab, Bessie Burow and Henrietta Long; and four brothers, Alfred, Claude, Herman and Clifford. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at the Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home in Hebron. Service will be at 11 a.m.

Friday, March 12, at St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Richard Bailey officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St.

John's Lutheran Church. Lola Maushak MARENGO Lola Maushak, 97, died Monday, March 8, 1993, at Florence Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 16, 1895, in Coral Township to Fred H. and Sophie (Bahre) Maushak.

She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Huntley, and a charter member of the Huntley American Legion Auxilary, Chicago Retired Public School Teachers and the Three Club. She was a 1913 graduate of Huntley High School, a 1923 graduate of DeKalb Normal School and a 1938 graduate of Lewis Institute. For 46 years she taught elementary students in McHenry, Kane and Cook counties. She retired from the Chicago Public School System in 1961. Miss Maushak is survived by a sister, Gladys V.

Maushak of Marengo; a nephew, Lowell (Marjorie) Maushak of Richfield, Utah; five nieces, Mary (Dr. Arthur) Wykes of Gaithersbury, Annette (Wayne) Kleckner of Granton, Susan (George) Batchelder of Bishop, Marjorie (Reid) Boud of Bloomington, and Caroline (Milton) Awe of Hampshire; many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Grace; and five brothers, Curtis, Will, Wayne, Fred and George in infancy. Calling hours are 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home in Marengo, where the funeral will be at 2 p.m.

21, 1907, in Cleveland, to Charles and Hattie Mason. Formerly of Merrimac, she moved to McHenry in 1976: Mrs. Roller is survived by four sons, Ted A. (a friend, Barbara Fino) McNish of McHenry, John W. McNish of McHenry, James (Jean) McNish of Sandwich and Robert (Betty) McNish of Pahrump, a daughter, Donna (John) Braidman of Las Vegas; 21 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Roller, and a son, Donald McNish. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at the George R. Justen Son Funeral Home in McHenry, with the Rev. Roger Schneider of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church officiating.

John's United Church of Christ, Union, and the Women's Fellowship. She was past matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 150. Mrs. Winkelmann is survived by her husband; a son, Linwood (Virginia) Winkelmann of Echo Bay, Ontario; two grandsons, Lynn Winkelmann of Echo Bay and Steven Miller of Las Vegas; two granddaughters, Nancy Winkelmann of Mississauga, Ontario, and Linda Ostaszewski of Epping, N.H.; two great-grandsons and two greatgrandaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lucille; two brothers and two sisters.
