Baker, and his wife, Paula, of Travelers Rest, and their children, Eleanor Anne, John Roger and Patrick Warren Baker; two sisters, Martha Moore and her husband, John, of Concord, and Ann Richardson and her husband, Gerald, of Taylors; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime full of wonderful friends.

-Clarence Yates Manning Greenville C.Y. Manning, 82, of 7 Tulane died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003. Mr. Manning was born in Forest City, N.C.

He owned and operated C. Manning Hair Care on Poinsett Highway, and was a member of White Oak Baptist Church. Preceding Mr. Manning in death was his wife, Bernice Hawkins Manning. Surviving are his daughter and so Donna and John Anthony; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Gail Manning; a sister; and grandchildren, Hope Roark and Paige Anthony.

Elvin E. Mauldin, USN Retired Pickens Elvin Edgar Mauldin, 80, of 165 Holder husband of Lola Hayes Mauldin, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at his home. Mr. Mauldin was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Samuel Edgar "Ted" and Cynthia Kate Parrott Mauldin.

He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the U.S. Navy Fleet Reserve in Anderson. He worked with Hendricks Hardware in Pickens and was member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Richard T.

Mauldin his wife, LaVerne, of Pickens, and Ronnie Mauldin and his wife, Melody, also of Pickens; two sisters, Christine Staton-Howe of Hesperia, and Willine Littlejohn of Greenville; a brother, James N. Mrs. Oldham, wife of the late Hugh Elexander Oldham, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003. Born in Savannah, she was the daughter Condon said. In front of jurors, Alkebulanyahh asked Condon if law officers should have warrants to enter a person's home.

"No, not at all," Condon told jurors. They don't need warrants when they're invited in or reacting to emergencies, Condon said. "If an officer is given permission to enter a home, it would be a dereliction of duty in this context not to search," Condon said. Alkebulanyahh also questioned Beaufort County Sheriff PJ. Tanner and other officers.

Alkebulanyahh wanted to ask the offi- "She was supposed to be on medication the night she shot me, and she proved then that she can't be relied on to take her medicine unless she is forced to by someone who is right there in the room with her," Trevor Johnston said. Margaret Swansson Owens Camden Margaret Swansson Owens, 57, resident of 35 Croft Mill Road, Camden, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia. Born in Cleveland County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Rune and Mary Dean Allen Swansson. She was a member of Northgate Colonial Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

15, 2003, after an extended illness. She was formerly employed as a Mauldin seamstress and Her Majesty Textiles in Quality Greenville. She was a wife of 49 years, was a homemaker and a mother, and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Fountain Inn. Surviving are her husband, William "Bill" Lawson of Simpsonville; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill Jr. and Patricia Lawson; a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Roger Gossett; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Bobbie Leopard; grandchildren, Jason Moore, April White, Salena Timms, Jonathan Tyler Gossett, Scott Newman, Angie Bennett and announced his policy in January 2001.

If he wanted to point the finger at other parties, he should provide proof and not mere speculation, Pieper said. On Wednesday, the prosecution finished its case with testimony that included a threat from Alkebulanyahh to a Charleston County jail officer after he was arrested. John F. K. Washington testified that Alkebulanyahh told him: "The last two who played games with me are six feet under and you're streets yet," he said.

Johnston was shot in the kitchen of Ho's home in Duncan on May 16, 1999. The bullet struck him just above his upper lip and lodged near his spine. Johnston said he developed severe epilepsy after the shooting and stopped working as a paramedic in 2000, when his neurologist diagnosed him as disabled..
