Travis Fowler, last year's leading rusher, has battled injuries, and Davis said, "It's hard to run an offense, especially the kind I like to run, without a tailback." What the Wildcats have is a strong-armed quarterback, Clayton Smith, and a pair of talented receivers, Brandon Thomason and BJ. Brockman, and the three have helped to awaken a slumping offense. Woodmont scored 44 points in its first five games, then 36 in the past two weeks. The Wildcats are 1-6 (0-2 in the Appalachian AA), but they're showing signs of life, with region leader Chapman (6-1, 2-0) coming to town tonight.
