He was extremely moved by the plight of the poor in Mexico and organized several trips into Mexico with food and gifts for the poor children there. He ran for city councilman of Albuquerque. He was a renowned drummer in several bands throughout the Southwest, achieving many awards. He played benefits whenever there was a need and produced several cassettes and compact discs. as he was known to his friends, will be sadly missed by family, friends and the music community.
