He is survived by loving daughter, Crista "Buddie" Van Vleet, of Albuquerque; mother, Kathryne Roderick husband, George of McGregor, MN; father, Waldo Van Vleet ot Mpls; sisters, Kathleen Hennessey of Spring Lake Park. MN. Teresa Christie-Lahti of Virginia, MN, Cathy Ferris of Ohio. Loretta Halquist of Brooklyn Park, MN, Roxanne Aitkin of Maple Grove, MN; and brother, Leslie Van Vleet of California. He is also survived by grandmother, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and numerous other close friends and relatives.

Thomas was born and raised in Minneapolis, and after serving in the Air Force, he relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico. There he finished his education, graduating from the University of New Mexico with a degree in Finance. He was extremely moved by the plight of the poor in Mexico and organized several trips into Mexico with food and gifts for the poor children there. He ran for city councilman of Albuquerque. He was a renowned drummer in several bands throughout the Southwest, achieving many awards.

He played benefits whenever there was a need and produced several cassettes and compact discs. as he was known to his friends, will be sadly missed by family, friends and the music community. Funeral services will be held at the Round Lake Presbyterian Church in McGregor, on October 16, 1999 at 1p.m. Interment will be in the Round Lake Cemetery. Survived by nieces, Mary Jane (Bob) McElroy, Dorothy (Jim) Mills, Pat (Bob) Cassidy, Lynn Anderson, Patti Anderson; nephews, Ernest Anderson, James Anderson, George Mulligan and Buck (Marilyn) Anderson; stepsons, Joe (Caroline) Wishy, Charles (Mary Jane) Wishy; and many step-grandchildren. She was preceded In death by first husband. Mel Anderson; and her second husband, Joe Wishy, 3 brothers, Al, Ernie 81 Arnold Anderson; 3 sisters, Dorothy Martha Anderson, Ethel Mulligan. Clara was a retired business woman. She was active in the Presbyterian Church and the Bloomington Senior Citizen organization.
