Mobcrhr Monitor-Index Friday, Sept. 25, 1964 Promotion Day to Be Held At Cairo Baptist Church Promoliori Day in Ihe Sundayi School, department will be observed Sunday morning at the Cairo Baptist Church according to the Rev. i 11 i aa R. Walls, pastor. The service will be held during the Sunday School and worship hour.

Sunday School will begin at Renick Baptist Activities for Week Announced RENICK -Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday al the Renick Baptist Church announces Ihe Rev. Elledge, pastor. George L. The morning worship service Will follow at 10:30 o'clock.

The Rev. Mr. Elledge will use "The Enemy Expose" as his topic. Evening services will begin at 7 o'clock with Training Union. Ellis Chism, director, will be in charge.

The worship service will begin at 8 o'clock. The Rev. Mr. Elledge will speak on "The Happy Wednesday ntght, business meeting will be held. The pastor will be in charge.

10 o'clock with Paul Dowding, in charge, and will be shortened Sunday morning only for the special service. Other Services The worship service will follow at 11 o'clock. The Rev. Mr. Watts will preach on "Getting to Know The Junior Choir will sing "Who Is on the Lord's Training Union will begin al 6:30 o'clock with Walker Cochran, director, in charge.

The worship service will commence at 7:30 o'clock. A nursery is provided for the Sunday services. Activities for the week will include: Thelma Geer GA mealing will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday anc the Sunday School officers anc teachers meeting will be held al 7:30 p.m. in the church.

WMU Book Study The WMU book study will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church. The Rev. Mr. Watts wil each the "History ol Woman's Missionary Union" There will be a covered-dish uneheon at noon.

Letter Carriers Have Dinner at Clifton Church CLIFTON HILL Mr, and Mrs. Waldo Malonc and Frank Draper were hosts Saturday to Ihe rural Letter Carriers Association and auxiliary held at the Methodist Church. The women of the Methodist Church served a fried chicken buffet style, fo 49 guests. There were regular, retired, substitute carriers and auxiliary members present from Clark, Moberly, Cairo, Hunlsville and Clifton Hill.

Visiting carriers and their wives included Mr. and Mrs. Russell White, Bynumville; Mr. and Mrs. John Duvail, Madison and Mr.

and Mrs. Richard Thudium, New Boston. Other guests were: Postmaster and Mrs. Herschel Morris, Mr. and Mrs.

Robert Leather; of Hill; Postmaster Ward Dennis, Mr. and Mrs. Terrill Mayo of Hunlsville and Mr. arid Mrs. Harold Boyd of Moberly.

After dinner Mr. Boyd gave a lalk on coins. j.m. Tuesday and Junior Choir will rehearse at 4:30 p.m. Midweek service will be hel( at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday and ihurch choir practice will follow at 8:15 p.m. RA Pioneers will meet at 3:30 p.m. Friday and Ihe Young Ad- alt Class meeting will be held at 8 p.m. Friday. Everyone is invited to all the services of the church.

Paris Christians Will Have Revival PARIS-The Rev. Paul Ehly of Raytown will be the evangelist at a revival to be held at the Paris Christian Church November. There will be a special meeting of the evangelism department of Ihe church, members ol the church cabinet, the membership department, and repre- classcs anc Ehly Friday sentatives of all groups with Rev. evening to discuss ways of making the special services mosi effective. and Mrs. Norman Sfaley Arc Parents of First Son Word has been received here that -Mr. a Mrs. a Keith Staley are Ihe parents of a son, born Sept. 18 in Shamrock, Fla.

He weighed 6-pounds and has been named Norman Keith Jr. He is the first child in the family. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Louie Staley of Moberly.

The mother is the former Miss Carolyn Hackler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hackler of Shamrock, Fla.

Mrs. Landolt, Moberly, Will Lead Convention Mrs. Arthur Landolt of Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), vice-president of the International Convention. of Christian Churches of the United States and Canada (Disciples of Christ), will preside at three of the convention sessions when they are held in Cobo Hall, Detroit, Oct. 2-7.

Mrs. Landolt will conduct life Saturday i Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon sessions of the Convention, with Dr. W. A. Welsh of Dallas, and the Rev.

Ralph Minck of Cleveland, Ohio, sharing Ihe conduct of other sessions. The convention of Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ), which is one of Ihe largest con ventions held in the nation, attract 10 to 12 thousand delegates from Ihe continental United States, i Canada, South America, the Philippines and Hawaii. The convention annually reviews the work of the church, mainly in its national a international relationships, and makes a future work and progress. Home From Hospital ARWSTROMG Mrs. Virgil Jones relumed to her home north of Armstrong Tuesday after being hospitalized for the past nine weeks.

She under went surgery in Columbia and later was moved to Keller Hospital in Fayelte where she was a patient until she was released Tuesday. There will be no rehearsal Ihe Chancel Choir this week. 4'hSTREET Herman Hall Dies Of Heart Attack; Once of Moberly Mrs. Warnie Burnham, Route 2, has received word of the death of a cousin, Herman Hall, 48, at Le Crescena, Calif. fie was found dead by his daughter, Mrs. Ronald Cole.

Death was attributed to a 'heart attack. Mr. Hall's wife died in a fire three years ago. He was a sun of the late William and Lula Hall of Moberly. He attended the Moberly schools before leaving in 1948.

Surving are the daughter; two brothers, Harry Hall, Boonville, and Robert, Kansas City; two grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Polly Conway, Moberly; one uncle, Robert R. Hall, Raytown; and several cousins. Burial will be Monday in San Fernando, Calif.
