Scrapbook of Wataga Unit Places First WATAGA Mrs.

Elsie Nelson, Pan-American chairman, assisted by Mrs. Dana Maxwell, rehabilitation chairman, members the Kenneth R. Stegall Unit of the American Legion, submitted a Pan-American scrapbook to the district convention at Ipava Thursday and received first place award. This was an all-day meeting at which the Ipava unit was hostess. The Part-American scrapbook will be sent tc the department convention In August for display in Chicago.

These two chairmen represented the Wataga unit at the patriotic conference in Chicago in March and there gained some valuable information for their scrapbook. Representing the unit at the meeting in Ipava were Mrs. Arlene Shafer, Mrs. Dana Maxwell and Mrs. Herbert Tucker.

The first two named are the newly elected president and first- vice president for the unit for the year 1953-54. This election was held at the meeting last, week. Other officers elects are: Elsie Nelson, second vice president; Olga Tucker, treasurer; Helen Swanson, chaplain; Frances Peterson, historian; and Evelyn Boettcher, sergeant at arms. Frances Peterson and Shirley Anderson were the tellers. Reports were heard at the June meeting given by Josephine Johnson, Evelyn Boettcher, Arlene Shafer, Marjorie Powell, Dana Maxwell, June Anderson, Elsie Nelson, Shirley Martha Nelson and Olga Tucker.
