14C LAWTON MORNING PRESS, Saturday, December 18, 1976 FUNERAL SERVICES Horace M. Newsom Jr. Funeral for Horace M. Newsom Jr, 48, Rt. 1, Fletcher, who died Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital after a brief illness, will be at 2:30 p.m.

today in the Ninth and Lee Church of God here with Dr. Ronnie Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home. Mr. Newsom was born Jan.

9, 1928, in Lawton. He was employed in civil service with the Signal Branch, Fort Sill. He was a i to a a Marple on July 31, 1954, in Wichita Falls, Tex. He had lived in Lawton until 1972, when he moved to the Fletcher area. Survivors include his wife of the home: two daughters: Mrs.

Jeanie Oldaker of Peculiar, and Mrs. Cheryl Ann Nevins of Elgin; two sons: Gary and Larry, both of the home: six sisters: Mrs. Amy Hall of Arlington, Mrs. Joyce McDaniels and Mrs. Bobbie Powell both of Lawton, Mrs.

Mary Carol Mahaffey of Cache, Mrs. Bobby Dean McClung of Medicine Park and Mrs. Donna Cox of Fort Worth; three brothers: Riley and Garland, both of Lawton and Patrick Newsom. and six grandchildren. John R.

Porter Funeral for CWO (Ret.) John R. Porter. 60, of 1628 NW 38th, who was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident about 6:20 p.m. Thursday near Walker, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the New Post Chapel at Fort Sill with burial in Post Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home.

Mr. Porter was struck as he walked across U. S. 371 near its junction with Minnesota 200 south of Walker, a ities reported. Mr.

Porter was born April 19, 1916, in Boswell. He was a farmer and also a truck driver for Arrow Moving Storage Co. in Lawton. He was a veteran of both World War II and the a War. Survivors include his i of the home; two daughters: Barbara Fox of Houston.
