First Memorial Waterston Chapel, 825-4567 Baumgartner Virginia Baumgartner was born to John and Elizabeth (Margesky) Holstein on July 8. 1907 in Humbolt, Saskatchewan, Canada. As a young girl her family moved to Montana where she was raised and attended school.

As a young lady she moved to Mower County, Minnesota where she met and married Edgar Baumgartner on December 3, 1925. After marriage the couple lived in Mower County for a short time before moving to Richardson Township in Morrison County. To this union 12 children were born. In 1943 the family moved to Onamia. She worked area resorts cooking and cleaning, she also worked at the Onamia Schools and the Mille Lacs Hospital in Onamia as a cook.

Edgar died in 1972. She was awarded the Mother of the Year Award in 1979. She moved into Oakwood Apartments in Onamia, after his death, and has resided there for 17 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening and growing flowers from seed. But what she enjoyed most of all were her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, who were a special part of her life.

In August, Virginia suffered a stroke and moved into the Mille Lacs Nursing Home in Onamia where she died on Friday, October 13, 1995 at the age of 88 years. She is survived by 11 children: Fern (Harry) Wilkes of Wahkon, MN; Margaret (Hector) Sharbonno of Anoka, MN; Dorothy Holada of Onamia, MN; Melvin (Ella Mae) of Onamia, MN; Gerald (Luella) of Sioux Falls, SD: Jerry (Bob) Ackland of Austin, MN; Joyce (S.L.) Johnson of Albert Lea, MN: Marjorie (LaMoyne) Heidemann of Albert Lea, MN; Harold (Virginia) Baumgartner of Bloomington, MN; Vonnie (Chuck) Bradley of Andover, MN; Karen (Tony) Miller of San Diego, CA; 38 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Kay Holstein of VanCouver, B.C.; Betty Chisholm of VanCouver B.C.; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar; two brothers, Leo and Val Holstein; one sister, Mary Saretsky; and one grandchild. Funeral Services for Virginia Baumgartner will be held on Monday, October 16, 1995 in Bethany Lutheran Church, of where she was a member, of Onamia at 11:00 AM.

He was a member of St. Columba's Episcopal Church, CA, and a Board Member of the Pleasant Valley Hospital Foundation located in CA.

He began his career with the Northrup King Seed Company. Camarillo, CA became home to the Massie family in 1972 when Mr. Massie joined Peloseed Company where he became a member Executive Management Committee and Senior Vice President. Mr. Massie enjoyed his marketing and sales responsibilities in the seed industry for 44 years and completed his career as a Senior Vice President with the Abbott and Cobb Seed Company.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Atwood Massie; two sons daughters-in-law, Charles Scott Diana Pauly Massie of Edina, and David Michelle Massie of Costa Mesa, CA; two daughters son-in-law, Pamela Massie of Camarillo, and Mary Kay Doug Welsh of Newport Beach, CA; three grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan and Woody Massie.
