I. A. KirkendoU, 1212 Hepry street, shown here with their pastor, the Rev. C. P.

Melvin of the Assembly of God, were married 58 years Monday, Aug. 15. They marked the anniversary the day before with a picnic dinner at Rothwell Park, where this picture was taken. Mr. and Mrs.

KirkendoU were married in a double wedding with Mr. and Mrs. Roy West of Moberly in the home on the old Patton farm, southwest of Moberly. Mrs. KirkendoU is the former Miss Gertrude Wolf, whose parents lived near the Patton home.

The couple have four children Jess Kirkendoll, Charlie Kirkendoll, Mrs. Robert Lorton and Mrs. Homer Hess, all of Moberly. With the parents Sunday were Charlie Kirkendoll and Mrs. Hess- anc grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the couple.

Walter Cardwell CWF Group to Be Host to Assembly Plans were made for the Walter Cardwell group of CWF to be hosts- at a joint meeting of all CWF groups Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. in the. dining hall of the church, when the group met last night in home of Mrs. Vets Valelly the and Miss Josephine Patton, 532 West Logan street.

Sixteen members were present. Mrs. Arthur Morris, president, had charge of the business session. Mrs: Lyle Thatcher presented the devotional, "The Cluistian Steward," with scripture from Psalm 24. Mrs.

Forrest Clore, program chairman, presented the lessen on "Facing a New World." She stressed the development of an understanding attitude toward Indian Americans and their problems in aa age requiring radical change in their way of living. Mrs. Clore pointed out there are Indians in the United 35,000 in Alaska, and in Canada, the latter having more-than 2,000 reservations. Mrs. Clore also told that the Indians are one of the few people of the world who have never de- WSCS Circle.

3 Has Luncheon-Meeting at Mayes Lake Home Members of circle three of Trinity Methodist Church were guests at a luncheon yesterday afternoon, sewed on the proch of the summer cottage of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mayes at Sugar Creek Lake. Mrs. Lee Reynolds assisted Mrs.

Mayes. Mrs. Minerva Jennings, genera WSCS president, was a guest. Mrs. IJoyd Swartz was the d-evo- ional leader, using "Friendship" or her subject.

A talk on Zechariah and Malacthj was given by I Mrs. Omar Edwiards with Mrs. Green reading the Scripture. The next meeting will be with Mrs. E.

C. Hart with Swartz assisting hostess. CWF Has First of Lessons on American Indians Mrs. R. E.

program leader, discussed "The First Americans, the Native Indians," when the Allin Sharp group of CWF, Central Christian Church, met yesterday morning in Hothwell Park for an 8:30 o'clock breakfast. Fourteen members and one visitor attended. Mrs. James Perry and s. Maurice Robb served as hostesses, Mrs.

Dale Ward presided during a business session. Mrs. Low's program was the first in a series of studies on the American Indians in the churches which the group will make during the coming year. Mrs. Low gave the history of the relationship between the Indians and the white man since the first coming of the white man.

Ray- So roh Ann Walkup Guest for Circle 1 Sarah Ann Walkup was a guest when Circle I of the WSCS of Trin ity Methodist Church met yesterday in the home of Miss Fleming. Thirteen members attended. The meeting opened with "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. Orville Da-m- eron, chairman, had charge of the business session. Plans were completed for work the circle will do during the conference in September.

George Riley took part in the devotional. The lesson on the prophets Obadiah, Joel, Jonah and H-aggai, was given by Mrs. Chester Miller. Refreshments were served. Mrs. John Knox, president, was in charge. Achievement Day was discussed. Mrs. Ogle Wright had charge of the devotional and led in prayer.

The program topic, "A School Day Party," was led by Mrs. Herman Dunivent, assisted by Mrs. Aubrey Broxvn, AH members took part. Mrs. Ogle Wright and Mrs.

Burrus Hostess To MNQ Club Meeting Mrs. Wallace Burrus was hostess (last night at a meeting of the MNO Mrs. Vernon Norton high, Mrs. Raymond Fadler low, and Mrs. Wallace Eurrus bunco.

Mrs. Arthur Eickhoff received an anniversary gift and Mrs. Howard Asbury a birthday gift from their secret pals. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Raymond Fadler, 801 East Logan street.

Mrs. Eva H. Hayes, Green City, Dies Mrs. Eva Halliburton Hayes of Green City died at 2 o'clock this morning the home of a sister, Mrs. Lee McCune of Kirksville.

Among relatives of Mrs. Hayes in this vicinity are two cousins, lallie Halliburton of Huntsville and Virs. H. G. Brock of Holliday.

Funeral services will be held at o'clock City. Mond.ay afternoon in with burial in Green Mrs. Earl Smith Of Holliday Dies; Funeral Sunday Mrs. Earl Smith, 72, Holliday, died at 1:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon in Woodland Hospital, where she had. been a patient for more than a week.

She had been ill health since April. Mrs. Smith was born in Monroe county and had lived in Holliday for many years. Mr. and Mrs.

Smith observed their 50th wedding anniversary April 9 of this year. Surviving are the husband; two children, Mrs. Harry Vanskike of Holliday and Harry Smith of Holliday; three four great grandchildren; two brothers, Charley Jennings of Holliday and Wesley Jennings of Royal Oak, and one sister, Mrs. Sanford Stephens of Cairo. The body is at the Speed and Blakey Funeral Home in Paris and will be taken to the home.

SECTION 4: That the lots, and tracts of land fronting and abut-- ing on both sides of Woody Avenue so improved shall be charged and there shall be assessed against said lots and tracts of land the sum of Sl.42 per front foot, fronting or abutting on said street and special tax bills shall be issued therefor, in accordance with the manner provided by shall be issued in favor of the City of Moberly, Missouri, the to-tal amount' to be charged the abutting proper-, ty.shall be limited to said amount 0. K. Megee front foot, and the balance of the costs and expenses of resurfacing said Woody Avenue shall be charged to the City of Moberly, Missouri, and borne bv the General Revenue thereof. All salvage from said Woody Avenue so- resurfaced as herein provided or, shall become the property of the 'City of Moberly, Missouri SECTION 5: Special tax bills shall be assessed 'by ordinance against the abutting property for ts part of the cost when the work completed at the rate of $1.42 )er front foot and said special tax lills shall be made payable to the lity of Moberly, Missouri.

SECTION.6: BE IT. FURTHER' IESOLVED that the City Qerk of- tie City of Missouri, shall cause this Resolution to be published in the Moberly Monitor- Index, a daily newspaper printed and published in fh City of Moberly, Missouri for seven consecutive insertions, and if a majority of the resident owners of property liable for the cost of said improvements at the date of lie passing of'this Resolution, who shall own a majority of the front feet owned hereby given that of appointment 12th day of August 1955.
