The network got big numbers from crime dramas such as (19.4million viewers), Los (15.8million) and (15.5million), according to data released Tuesday by the Nielsen Co. The No.1program in viewers was season premiere of With the on ABC (21.3 million), while the prize in adults ages18 to 49 went to Sunday football game between the Jets and the Dolphins (7.3 share, 18.2 million viewers). Season 2 opener of was the top-rated entertainment program in that advertiser-friendly demographic (5.6 share, 12.5 million).

However, in a sign of a long season ahead for broadcasters, the top 10 lists in both viewers and the18-49 demographicincluded none of the new series heavily promoted by the networks. The top new program was remake (14.2 million), which ranked No.11 in viewers butbarely cracked the top 20 among young adults. Rivals had an even tougher time: top-rated new show was the comedy at No.25 in the 18-49 demographic, while was the comedy With at No.48. Fox has already canceled its drama which ranked 75th among young adults. Overall, CBS was an easy No.1(averaging 12.5million viewers during prime-time hours), trailed by ABC (9.6 million), NBC (8.2million) and Fox (6.5million).

CBS also led in 18-49 with a 3.3 average rating, ahead of ABC and NBC with 2.8 apiece. Cable quieted down during a week that really belonged to the broadcasters, with the only ratings sizzle coming from the Saintsvs. 49ers matchup on ESPN Monday night (15.1million). scott.collins@latimes PRIME-TIME TV RANKINGS CBS is No.1, but new series lagging Scott Collins Adam Larkey ABC Audrina Patridge, Tony Dovolani.
