and Pearl Sanders Cole. She was a former employee of J.P. Stevens, Watts Plant, was retired from Laurens County Senior Options, was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. Parker Road, died Wednesday evening, June 21, 2000, at her home. Born in Tali, Yunnan, China, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Isobel Miller Kuhn. Mrs. Rulison was a missionary to the Hmong People in Thailand since 1955 and was a member of the First Evangelical Church of Greenville.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Donald E. Rulison; daughter, Anabel G. Rulison of Greenville; sons, Jonathan E. Rulison of Thailand and Daniel P. Rulison of Los Angeles, brother, Daniel K.

Ellen Alderman Jones, Sumter Ellen Alderman Jones, 84, widow of Lewis Mayrant Jones died Friday, June 23, 2000, at the Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Paul R. Alderman and Mina Blanchard Alderman. Mrs.

Jones graduated from Manning High School and Winthrop College. She was a homemaker and a substitute teacher. She was a Sunday School teacher for 40 years, being a member of Clarendon Baptist Church until 1953, then upon moving to Sumter joining Grace Baptist Church, where she served faithfully. She moved to Greenville in 1990, returning to Sumter in 1995, where she resided at Covenant Place. Surviving include three sons, Dr.

Lewis M. Jones and his wife, Pat R. Jones, of Anderson, Dr. Charles B. Jones and his wife, Lora E.

Griffin, died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital. After its salvage in 1976 from the river, archaeologists sunk the ship again, but in a pool filled with a chemical preservative so the wood wouldn't deteriorate after being underwater for 246 years.
