I-ondon's five bullion houses fixed a morning recommended gold price of $426.80 a Troy ounce, up from Monday's late rate of In Zurich, Europe's largest gold exchange, the metal traded at a median $426,50 unchanged from Monday. Earlier in Hong Kong, gold fell $3.36 to close at $426.56. LONDON (AP) The dollar was mixed against the world's major currencit in quirt European trading early today. Gold and silver were fractionally higher.

The U.S. currency gained ground against the French franc, with investors expressing continued uncertainty over the socialist government's pkna for nationalizing banks and industries. In Tokyo, the dollar hit a 2-month high. It closed at 235.85 yen, up from 234.95 late Monday. Later in Ijndon, it climbed to 235.48 yen.

But the dollar lost ground against the British pound, the West German mark and Swiss franc. The pound rose to $1.8120 from $1.8040 late Monday. "It's having a sort of reaction to yenterday's sharp rise and could maybe go a bit lower," a dealer in Frankfurt said. WFRV formerly was owned by Orion Broadcasting Louisville, KyM which was sold to COSMOS Broadcasting Columbia, S.C. The station had to be sold by COSMOS due to Federal Communications Commission ownership regulations limiting the number of VHF stations owned by one company. WFRV-TV, which was formed by a group of Green Bay businessmen, began operating on Channel 5 May 21, 1955. It was sold to Orion Broadcasting Jan. 3, 1961.
