Mr. Walter B. Allison and Mias Anna Garland Married. Walter B. Allison, of the Duon In-suranae Agency of this city, waa married to Miss Anna Garland, in Marshall, Indiana, on Wednesday evening, January 7.

This, news will be read with much interest by the many friends of the young couple in this city, aa Mr. Allison had confided the mission of his northern visit to but a few of his intimate acquaintances. Miss Garland is very well known in Crowley, having spent much of her time in thia city during the past five years. She is a daughter of B. R.

Garland, better known as Tncle Dick." She is young lady of mony Sweet and lovable attainments and has always been exceedingly popular everywhere. Mr. Allison is among Crowley's foremost young business men. Since com. ing to this city a number of years ago he has won the confidence and friendship of everyone by his straightforward manner and exemplary habits.

The groom is a brother of A. B. Allison, of the Star Rice Milling Company. The happy couple have been spending somr time on their honeymoon and are now the guest of Mrs. Allison's parents at Newton.

A Short Visit from Officials of Southern Pacific Crowley was visited Monday by a number of very prominent Southern Pacific Railway officials. The party waa composed of Mr. Fred S.

While in the city the party called at the Signal office and were shown through the establishment Many compliments were paid the eity for its enterprise and thrift and apparent activity all sides, and coming from a party of gentlemen who have just visited many other points, they are the more appreciated. The special train bearing the distinguished railroaders remained here over an hour while the party waa making observations, after which it carried them on to Lafayette, ONE FARE TO NEW ORLEANS.

At the regular meeting of the Elks Monday night a most pleasant evening -was spent. Hon. Philip S. Pugh, Acadia'e representative to the State Legislature, presented himself for initiation and had i the horn attached in a most becoming manner. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Kantrovitz, of Xew Orleans, are here visiting Mrs. sister, Mrs. Felix Schuiulen.
