"I never cared about the controversy. I said, if the movie is good, there'll be a great audience for it if it wasn't good, it wouldn't be a hit." Geffen said that while critics were more or less split about the film's merits, exit polls were outstanding. "Women love the movie, young males under 25 love the movie, and they showed up in droves to see it," he said.
