He was nicknamed "Rocket in the Pocket" because he got to the ball carrier before anybody could block him, his brother said. The team won the Twin Cities championship in 1948. From 1950 to 1964, he managed three bars owned by his father, Carl: Adolph's Bar in Robbinsdale and the 114 Club on Washington Av. S. and Poodle Club at 810 Hennepin Av.

O'Brien, 67, a leading authority on the works of Thomas Aquinas and the editor of a 60-vol-ume English translation of the 13th century theologian's "Summa Theo-logica," died in Chambersburg, of lung cancer. The "Summa Theolo-gica" is held as the highest achievement of medieval theological system-atization, delineating Aquinas' assertion that many fundamental Christian verities lie beyond reason and are revealed in scripture. Edwin O. Sandvig, 97, who worked at the Bonanza Valley State Bank in Brooten, for 75 years, died Thursday at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minn. Sandvig was born on a farm southwest of Brooten.

He attended the agriculture school at the University of Minnesota and Park Region Luther College in Fergus Falls, Minn. al years and was a charter member of the Brooten Lions Club. He was secretary of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten for 40 years. He was grand marshal of Broo-ten's centennial celebration in 1986 and a day was held in his honor by the city in 1988. He enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Clara, and In 191 5 he started as a bookkeeper at Bonanza Valley State Bank, which was formerly the State Bank of Brooten. He was a senior vice president before he retired in 1990. After his retirement, he continued to help people prepare income tax returns. He was city clerk and a member of the volunteer fire department in Brooten for more than 30 years. He also was the city's treasurer for sever 673-4130 Williamson Claramae, age 77, of Bloominglon.
