He retired from J.P. Stevens Seneca plant, and was a member of Independent Holiness Church. Surviving are two brothers, the Rev. Lee Brice of Pickens and J.D. Brice of Tamassee; and three sisters, Ruby Spurlock and Ruth Pinion, both of Walhalla, and Mildred White of Cashiers.

Pansy T. Cantrell PICKENS Pansy Elizabeth Townes Cantrell, 85, of 294 Mont-vale School Road, died Sept. 9, 1994, at Baptist Medical Center Easley. She retired from Easley Textile Co. after 35 years and was a mem-ber of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are five daughters, Pansy Janette C. Smith of Easley, Patsy Julia C. McConnell and Nancy Ann C. McConnell, both of Da-cusville, and Rebecca Joyce C. Lay and Lillie Mae C.

The family is at the residence. Waddy Chapman III Waddy William Chapman III, 35, of Rembert, a native of Greenville, died Sept. 10, 1994, at his home. He was a graduate of Wofford College and received a master's degree in journalism form the University of South Carolina. He was a copy writer for Tucker-Wayne Luckie Advertising Agency in Birmingham, Ala.

Surviving are his mother, Judith Smith Chapman of Rembert; and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Chapman of Greenville. Private services will be held at a later date. Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden. Richard E. Fllnn Richard Elkins Flinn, 24, of 42 Ponderosa Road, died Sept.

10, 1994. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and a sales representative for CBK Industries. He was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his parents, William Richard and Sally Elkins Flinn of the home; a sister, Lisa Huffman of Columbia; a brother, Lane Flinn of Columbia; and his grandmother, Doris Flinn of Chattanooga, Term. Rachel Schreier Rachel Bisher "Robbie" Schreier, 40, of 103 Pine Gate Drive, formerly of Denton, N.C, died Sept. 8, 1994, at her home. She received a degree in nursing from the University of Florida and a degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina. She was an accountant for Heckler Manufacturing Co. and a member of Temple of Israel.

Surviving are her parents, Harold and Elizabeth Bisher of Greenville; a son, Ryan Schreier of the home; a daughter, Caroline Schreier of the home; two brothers, William Bisher of Denton and Richard Bisher of Asheboro, N.C; and three sisters, Ann B. GREER Luther "Paul" Scruggs 60, of 20 Scruggs Circle, died Sept. 9, 1994, at his home. He retired from McLean Trucking Co. and was a member of Washington Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Birdie Pittman Scruggs of the home; three sons, Timothy Paul Scruggs of Travelers Rest, and Terry Wayne Scruggs and Danny Lynn Scruggs, both of Greer; a daugh- on Clinton was the case.

"They are not Dixie cups," he said of American military personnel. "They are not to be used for political purposes, and they are not to be used to trade votes and they are not to be used to get a bump in the polls." In addition to citing Clinton's personal lack of military service, Perot said mistakes during the military mission in Somalia "shows that this administration has no concept at all of what combat is all about." SPARTANBURG Hilton Dupre "Bud" Turner 74, of 851 Floyd Road, died Sept. 10, 1994, at his home. He retired from the state Department of Highways and Public Transportation (now the Department of Transportation) and was an employee of Arkwright. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he was a medic and a recipient of the Bronze Star.

He was a Baptist. Surviving are a brother, Ray C. Turner of Macon, and two sisters, Alba T. Rodefield of Marietta, and Frances T. Harmon of Dunedin, Fla.

Cheryl Elam Norton, 37, of Maple Grove Church Road, died Sept. 7, 1994, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was an employee of the Char-Meek Utility Department. Surviving are her husband, Da vid Norton Jr. of the home; a son, David Norton III of Matthews; and a daughter, Kristi Norton of Matthews.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. 'Bob' Phillips EASLEY Robert Marion "Bob" Phillips, 62, of 235 Fuller Drive, died Sept. 8, 1994, at his home. He was the former owner and operator of Phillips Electric Co. in Seneca and an employee of Daniel Construction Co.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Methodist. Surviving are two sons, Matthew Eric Phillips and Lindsay Marion Phillips, both of Seneca; a daughter, Joy Phillips Donald of Seneca; and two brothers, Wayne Phillips of Greenville and Franklin Glenn Phillips Jr. of Henderson, Tenn. Monday in Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens. Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Dillard Memorial Funeral Home, Pickens. The family is at the residence. James Rice WOODRUFF James William Rice, 50, of 320 McArthur Lot 22, died Sept.

10, 1994, at B.J. Workman Memorial Hospital. He was an electrical contractor and a student at Spartanburg Technical College. He was a sergeant first class in the U.S. Army and was of the Church of God Faith.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Hanna Rice; three sons, Ronald L. Rice, Michael Anthony Rice and Jeffrey Scott Rice, all of Woodruff; a daughter, Robin R. Center of in any event, the country was not worth a single American life. But he said he believed Clinton was hellbent on restoring deposed President Jean Bertrande Aris-tide whom Perot called "a dictator (who) has a record of tortures" without getting advance approval from Congress. "Unfortunately, we have a president who was unwilling to serve in the armed forces and risk his life when he was a young man," Perot said.

Perot offered no documentation to back up his suggestion that Clinton promised an invasion to win votes for the recently passed crime bill from members of the Congressional Black Caucus, saying only that he had heard that Ellen Flack FOREST CITY, N.C. Ellen Hol-lifield Flack, 91, of 204 Windover Drive, died Sept. 10, 1994, at Caroli-nas Medical Center in Charlotte. She was a homemaker and a member of Florence Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Glenn R.

Flack of Greenwood, T. DeWitt Flack of Winston-Salem, N.C, and Louis E. Flack of Dunedin, a brother, James Hollifield of Spin-dale, N.C; and two sisters, Effie Hollifield and Beautelle Duckett, both of Chesnee. Memorial services: 4 p.m. Sunday at Florence Baptist Church with visitation to follow.
