Michigan, on Lake Superior, on Nov, 30. She was caught in a blizzaid while rounding the point, and her crew of men wire rescued after two days without (nod by the crew of the Eagle Coast Guard Station. Nine of her men, when rescued, were suffering from frozen limbs as a result of exposure to the extreme cold, and it was found that several of 'her crew, while attempting to warm their feet at the lion tiro built by them, bad allowed the soles of their shoes to burn without being able to feel the warmth ot the lire. The ship la now ptramlcd, frozen in, with her stern crushed in from the pressure of the, ice, and with 232 automobiles still on board. A Duluth fhm has taken a contract to nalvnge the cars. Approximately fifteen miles of wilderness lie between Copper Harbor, the nearest settlement, and the point where the vessel is stranded, and the latest plan of the salvaging contractors is to attempt to make a road through this expanse of virgin tSmherland.
