Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kennedy and family spent Thursday at Glenview. Clyde Hakes of St. Charles spent Wednesday and Thursday in Woodstock, having brought his mother, Mrs.

Lizzie Hakes, of Chile, to the local hospital for observation and treatment: Mrs. Hakes was a former resident of this vicinity, moving only four years ago to be' with her sister in Chile. Mrs. Hakes' condition is serious and friends are grieved to learn of her illness. Miss Grace Peters of Chicago is enjoying a two weeks vacation with, Mr.

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred 'Dietz of Jefferson Park were callers in the A. Boyce home Thursday. Paul O'Leary is enjoying his vacation with his sister, Mrs.

and Mrs. W. P. Miller left this Thursday morning for Champaign. where they will attend the conference of the Illinois State Agriculture Instructors association.

While there they will visit Mrs. Miller's sister and brother and families instead of their son as stated in Wednesday's issue of the Sentinel. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Miller and baby reside in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Larson visited the peony field of Miss Belle Hudson at Hebron this week.

Miss Hudson's field, located just outside of Hebron cn' the cement, is a beautiful spot at present. J. H. Turner, Mrs. Frank Rehorst and Mrs.

Ethel Bathelet and son, all of Hebron, were guests in the G. A. Larson home recently and witnessed Eugene Larson receive his diploma as a graduate from the local high school. Frederick D. Beach and Alma V.

Taylor, both of Elkhorn, were united in marriage on Wednesday, at the home of the officlating clergyman, Rev. N. A. Sunderlin. Mr.

Beach, commonly known as Del Beach, was one of the overseers of the work of building Lake dam. Mrs. Allie Roe of Chicago is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry A.

PETERSEN Mary Alice Conerty, wife of Mack C. Peterson, who passed away at her home on Seminary on Wednesday, June 3, was born at Lanesboro, on January 24, 1876. When but a young girl she with her parents to Hartland, in (1857. She was united in marriage with Mack Peterson on March 25, 1906. Mrs.

Peterson suffered because of illness for many years, but through all of her suffering was mindful of ethers, 'always looking forward to regaining her health that she might better do for others, not only her immediate loved ones but any who needed comfort or help. She was an active member of the Presbyterian church, Woodstock, for fourteen years giving her services and loving support through all the departments of the church work. She wa's a great inspiration to her nilnister and her forced absence unaccount of illness Was a loss felt by Her pastor, the Rev. E. K.

Hershey, often visited her in her illness and 'of the helpfulness of those visits she many times spoke to her friends. She was Christian in her belief and tad no miss-givings concerning God and her relation to Him. She was Christian in her life, ever seeking the welfare of the Kingdom of God. She was Christian in her relation to' other Christian people. She loved her church but this did not cause her to lose sight of the fact that she was a ber of a church that was larger than! any earthly organization to which she might belong.

Surviving her are her husband, one sister, Mrs. Elmer Eckert of Woodstock and five brothers, Henry and John, also of Woodstock. Charles of Janesville. Dr. James of Los Angeles, and Frank of Harvard, Ill.

There are also many friends who will ever cherish the memory of this Gear loved one. Her funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon, June 6. 1931. The services were conducted by the Rev. Roderick Murray, pastor of the Methodist church and by her sister members of the Order of the Eastern Star.

June 15. Emil Guse, Union, to Hazel Peterson, Seneca, June 15, 1931. ELGIN ATTORNEY SUED FOR $10,000 RESULT OF ROW Warren S. Jackman, advertising manager of the Fox Valley Herald, a weekly Dundee newspaper, has filed suit for $10,000 damages against Perry D. Wells, Elgin city attorney.

The suit followed an alleged sluggin.g in the office of Mayor Myron H. Leman of Elgin a fortnight ago in which Wells is said to have struck Jackman in the neck, injuring Jackman so badly he was forced to spend three days in a hospital with his neck packed in hot cloths. The suit, which was filed in the Elgin city court by R. Waite Joslyn, attorney for Jackman, has been set for hearing during the September trem. The declaration is not to be placed on file until the last week in August, it was said.
