Wednesday, September 3, 2003 Green Bay Press-Gazette OBITUARIES Bagby, Mark 1951 -2003 Mark Bagby died suddenly at his home in Los Angeles, on June 25. He was the son of Charles and Marian Bagby who preceded him in death and a brother to Martha Bagby, Salem, Mass. Please join in the celebration of his life on Sunday, September 7, at the Union Congregational Church, 716 S. Madison Green Bay. There will be visitation in the English room at 6:30 p.m.

and a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary officiated by the Reverend Chuck Mize. Contributions in Mark's memory may be made to the Union Congregational Church, the Bay Area Humane Society and Animal Shelter, Inc, or a charity of your choice. Breecher, Jack D. Jack D.

Breecher, 84, Green Bay, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003 in Marinette. He was born June 13, 1919, in Marinette, to Walter and Elizabeth Breecher. In his youth, Jack was an active baseball player. He played for Green Bay Floral, The Terminal Bar and Bay West.

Mr. Breecher had been an active member of Our a vi our Lutheran Church where he served as Superintendent for Religious Education. On Oct. 27, 1945, he married Lorraine Knope at Redeemer Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on June 4, 1994.

During World War II, Jack served in the U.S. Army. He fought in the European Theatre, including battles at Normandy and in Northern France. For 38 years he was employed as a millwright at Bay West Paper. He was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

He was a member of the church Men's Club, served on the Board of Elders and was active in Redeemer School where he contributed to the education program. He enjoyed making crafts, woodworking and gardening. He had been active in Boy Scouts, coaching and transporting teams to their events. But most importantly, he cherished the times he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his five children and their families, David and Margaret Breecher, Marinette, their children, Meg (Tim) Phillips, David (Tahja) Breecher, Anne (Chris) Renard; Diane Holton, Green Bay, her children, Theresa (Brian) Engum', Michael (Patty) Holton; Bruce and Kay Breecher, Green Bay, their children B.J., Bill and Jill Breecher; Randy and Debbie Breecher, Green Bay, their children, Tasha, Tom and Tim Breecher; Yvonne and Ken Heller, Green Bay, their children, Kevin, Kyle and Kelly Demeny and Ken Heller; 15 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Herb) Nieft, Gresham; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandchild, Lillian Marie Phillips; three sisters, Gert (Floyd) Marchand, Mary Jane (Bud Gross) Magneson, Dorothy (Dale) Gaffney; two brothers, Eldon Breecher and Bob (Charlotte) Breecher. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 S.

Oneida St. The funeral will be held at 11 Friday at the church with the Rev. John Poppe officiating. Military honors and burial will follow at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. The Breecher family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Unity Hospice Marinette for their loving care of Jack during his' illness.

A memorial fund has been established in his name. AND FUNERALS Kassner, Lilian "Joan" Lilian "Joan" Kassner, 75, De Pere, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, at home. She was born Oct. 14, 1927, to the late William and Suzanne Brown in London, England.

She lived through the war in London where she met and later married John E. Kassner on Jan. 2, 1946. (John was serving in the U.S. Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Division.) She returned to America as a "warbride" and raised five children.

Joan's life was made full from the love and enjoyment she gave and received from her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the frequent trips she made to London, England to visit family. She especially liked the time she spent with her dear sisters staying up late at night drinking tea and reminiscing about childhood memories. Joan worked by her husband's side in the office as part of the family business. Survivors include her husband, John; her children and their spouses, John A.

(Victoria); James (Joan); Steven (Julie); Kathleen (J.P.) Ingold; and Craig (Patricia); ten grandchildren, Matthew (Shannon) and their daughter, Page; Jesse; Allison; Ashley; Jameson; Chastity; John Ingold, Chandler; Austin; and Dayton; one brother, Stanley Brown; and one sister-in-law, Ivy Brown, Ingatestone, England. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann, Doris and Olive; and three brothers, Bill, Albert and James. Harvey W. Klika, 77, Green Bay, passed away Sept. 1, 2003. He was born July 31, 1926, to the late Joseph and Rose (Schweiner) Klika. Harvey married the former Alice Jean McFarland on Sept.

9, 1950, at St. John the Evangelist Church. Harvey graduated from Central Catholic High School. After serving in the United States Navy during World War II, Harvey graduated from Marquette University. Harv was the first person in the Green Bay area to receive a degree in Real Estate and he also received a degree in Business Administration.

Harvey began his Real Estate career with the Barnard Corporation, where he became Vice-President under owner and President Michael Barnard. From there he went to Montgomery Realtors and then to Titletown ERA, where he retired after serving 52 years in the Green Bay area. During those 52 years in Real Estate, Harvey served on many boards and committees. He was president of Marquette Alumni, life member of the Optimist Club, on the Board of Directors at the YMCA, where he loved playing racquetball and served Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church.

Harvey was named Realtor of the Year and served as President of the Board of Realtors. Harvey devoted his life to Jean and raising 14 successful children, Peggy, Kris, Mary, Steve, Tom, Dave, Katie, Linda, Jerry, Jane, John, Jim, Mike and Kevin. Harvey and Jean have 36 grandchildren. His sister, Arvilla Matalan is living in Bellavista, Ark. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred McHugh and his brother, Gordon and a Death records BAGBY, Mark, Los Angles.

Cowman, Green Bay; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a great-niece. Preceded in death by her father, Clarence Cowman; brothers, David, Gerald and Michael Cowman; sister-inlaw, Sharon Cowman (Gerald); and a great-niece. Phillip W. Martell, 78, 610 Marinette Marinette, passed away Monday afternoon, Sept. 1, 2003, at Bay Area Medical Center. He was born Nov. 16, 1924, in Green Bay, to the late Phillip W.

and Irma (Fraker) Martell, Sr. He was a graduate of Green Bay West High School and attended the University of WisconsinMadison. In 1944 he entered the United States Army and served in both the European and Pacific theatres during World War II. Following his war service, he attended the New England Institute of Mortuary Science in Boston. On June 26, 1948, he was married to the former Helen Weaver.

Coming to Marinette in 1950, he began a 53-year career as a funeral director with Hansen and Onion Funeral Home, purchasing the business from Eugene M. Onion in 1964. Active in community affairs, he was a longtime member and President of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board for the City of Marinette, the Marinette County Library Board and the Boards of Marinette Youth, American Red Cross and the Nicolet Federated Library System. He also served the State of Wisconsin in citizen positions supporting library services throughout the state. He was current- He was born in Wrightstown, on July 18, 1941, the son of Jerome and Lorraine (Leanna) Schadrie.

On Nov. 18, 1995, he married Margarete Koutalis. He was a member of the United States Army and served in Korea during peacetime. He was a truck driver for over 30 years working for various transport companies, and had just retired in July. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Margarete; two sons, Gary (Debbie) Schadrie, Portage; and Paul (Michella) Schadrie, Fond du Lac; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Gary Schadrie, Laura and Stephanie Larson, and Michael Newman; a brother, Steve Schadrie, De Pere; two sisters, Donna (John) Boucher, and Rosemary Schadrie, (special friend, Alicio Barrera), all of Green Bay; and nieces, Kimberly Schadrie and Jennifer (Jason) Bunker.

Edward is further survived by, his father-in-law, Andrew Koutalis; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael (Goody) Koutalis, other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003 at Valley Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Bain officiating.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will follow service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary in De Pere.

Janice enjoyed traveling, painting, shopping, gardening, reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Gene Timmerman, Oconto Falls, her sister, Beverly Douglas, Snohomish, five brothers, Robert Bonn, Everett, Larry and David Bonn both of Port Orchard, Harlow Bonn, Renton, Richard Bonn, Canyon Beach, her three daughters, Gerri Kuehl, Cashmere, Lorri Dietmeyer, Arizona City, Penni Arringdale, Davenport, Iowa; her three sons, Stephen Timmerman, Oconto Falls, Randy Timmerman, Olalla, Roger Wilbur. Many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Orval and Floyd Bonn and one daughter, Cheryl. A celebration of her life and memorial service to which all are invited will be held at her home, 215 Mead Oconto Falls, at 2 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, Dr. Phillip John Martell, Big Rapids, and James (Marsha) Martell, Marinette; two grandchildren, Elisabeth Martell and James R. Martell, Marinette; one brother, the Rev.

Ronald (Jan) Martell, Perrysburg, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Weaver, Marinette. Friends may call at HansenOnion-Martell Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, from 4 until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, in Church.

He was born April 18, 1918, son of the late Antonia and John Pasternak. During World War II he served in the United States Army in the European Theater. He was retired from the United States Steel Corp. Besides his loving wife, Evelyn (Rapacki), he is survived by his son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Donna (Thompson), and one dear granddaughter, Markie Rene. Bill is also survived by a brother, Fred (Janet) and sisters-in-law, Irene Kowandy (late Tony) and Annelies (late Chester) Pasternak, two godchildren in Indiana, Deb (Dave) Petersen and Leonard Wisniewski and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. Friends may call at Cotter Funeral Home, '860 N. Webster De Pere, Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A Parish Prayer Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S.

Michigan De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at church with the Rev. V. Anthony Dolski officiating.
