SATURDAY, FEB. 1, 1964 FERGUS FALLS (Minn.) DAILY JOURNAL PAGE FIVE From A PERSONAL ANGLE Dial 736-2601 Color Slutlio MR. AND MRS. LESTER S. HANSON Bethel Church Scene of Hanson-Berg Vows Bethel Lutheran Church was the scene of the marriage January 25 of Sandra Kaye Berg and Lester Selvin Hanson.

The Rev. 0. E. Overland officiated at the candlelight Blue and white were used in the candelabra and aisle tapers and in the mum and carnation bouquets. The bride is the daughter of and Mrs.

E. Hamilton Berg of N.D., arid the bride Mrs. Herman M. Hanson of Fer- groom is the son of Mr gus Falls. The bride chose a chapel- length gown of nylon organza and lace with chapel train.

The full overskirt was caught with hand-made lace roses and the bodice was all lace. Her pure silk illusion net was held by a double crown of pearls and crystals. She carried red roses. Matron of honor was Mrs. Roger Shjerve and bridesmaid was LaVern Hanson, both sisters of the groom.

They wore blue peau de suave sheath gowns with chiffon overskirts. They carried cascade bouquets of white mums and shattered carnations. Lisa Loftsgard of Park River, N.D., was flower EM. Roger Shjerve was best man and Stephen Berg, brother of the bride, was groomsman. Ushers were Kenneth Lider and Stuart Loftsgard.

Paul Shjerve was ring bearer. Candlelighter ganist and Wayne Larson sang "0 Perfect Love" and "Wedding Prayer." Following the ceremony, a reception was given for 100 guests. Sharon Hanson, sister of the groom, registered the guests. Coffee pourers were Mrs. Selmer Hanson and Mrs.

Melvin Lider, aunts of the groom. cake were Mrs. Eugene Loftsgard and Mrs. Alvin Gryte, aunts of the ride. Waitresses were Ardyce Lider, Beverly Lider, Marilyn Lider and Mrs.

Kenneth Lider. Serving were Mrs. Joan Watson, Mrs. C. C.

Christiansen, Mrs. Doris Vettrus and Agnes Klyppe. At the gift table were Mrs. Gary Bradow, Mrs. Robert Anderson, Shirley Fronning, and Emily Thorness.

Host and hostess were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Swiontek. Out of town guests at the wedding and reception included Mr. and Mrs.

Eugene Loftsgard anc family of Park River, N.D., anc Mr. and Mrs, Alvin Gryte and Charles of Crookston. newlyweds are now at home at 2 Cecil Avenue, Fergus Falls. Mr. Hanson attended Benson County Agricultural School, Haddock, N.D., and Hillcrest Lutheran Acade- Mrs.

Hanson attended the The 63-voke Luther College Choir began its annual winter tour January 25 and will make 12 appearances in Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois. Among its members are Madelvn Preus of Fergus Falls and Phillip Estrem of Battle Lake. Caroline Bndack and her sister Mrs. Mittag of Wahneton are driving to San Antonio, for a month's vacation with the Frank Vitiello family. Mrs.

Vi- tie'lo is a daughter of Mrs. Mittag. An Infant boy, Scott Alan, arrived January 28 from Minneapolis to make bis home with Joan and Gordy Hanson of rural Doran. Kathy will go this weekend to St. Paul to enroll as a student at Macalester College for tlie next semester.

Carmen Robertson of Roches. ler visited friends -in Fergus Falls briefly on Thursday and Friday. University of Minnesota, Morris, seniors will begin seven weeks of student teaching on Monday. This is the second time the students have gone into the same schools. Last fall they observed and did some teaching as a prior exposure to the high i school program.

Among those students teaching are Burnoll Eidem of Elbow Lake at Benson; Richard Schendel of Norcross at Browns Valley; Arlenej Strehlo of Elbow Lake at Cho kio; Janet Lawler of Morris at i Elbow Lake; Roger Stark of Hoffman at Elbow Lake; Christian Kamrud of Parkers Prairie at Herman; Stanley Anderson of Hoffman at Herman. Carol Townscrd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Townsend, has been named- to the Dean's Honor Roll at Hamline University, St. Pan'.

Miss Townsend is a senior. This is the first honor list released under Hamline's new 3-3 program. Under this system the academic year is di- vic'ed into three terms with students tP 'ing three courses each term. The plan places a chal- lenpe on students bv requiring more concentrated effort. Thirty-two Moorhead I a I College seniors have been selected for membership in "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities." In addition to those mentioned earlier they include Orvin Anderson, Fergus Falls: Douglas Grouws of Pelican Rapids; Diane Smith Churchill of Herman.

Alexander received special recognition by University of Minnesota alumni Thursday. He was the oldest alumnus to attend the banquet. Completing academic work in 1902, he received his law degree the next year. That same year he hung out his shingle in Pelican Rapids and began practicing law. A few years later he moved to Fergus Falls where he is still active as an attorney.

Band Clinic and Concert Will Be Feb. 18 A brasswind clinic for Fergus Falls and area schools has been set up for February 18, accord- in? to Alfred Jacobs. Fergus Falls band director. That eve- ring the Fergus Falls Concert Band will perform in a public concert. Trombonist Mark McPunn will conduct the clinic and be guest soloist at the evening concert.

Since 1954 Mr. McDunn has served on the faculty of the De Paul University School of Music Chicago. He is also a free lance recording musician. Zion ALCW Hear Minister to Indians The Rev. S.

A. Urberg, pastor at the Nee-Gownee Mission near Mahnomen, will be guesl speaker at Zion Lutheran ALCW on Wednesday at 8 p.m. The ALCW meeting is open to al' interested persons. This home mission, supported by the Northern Minnesota District of the ALCW, is for Indians of the area and will eventually become self-sufficient. The speaker will show of the mission and of the har vest of wild rice.

PTA Council Feb. 3 To Discuss Music Fergus Falls PTA Council wil meet Monday night at Room of Washington Junior Higt School. The executive boan meets at 7:30. Local PTA offi cers and members meet with the council at 8 p.m. Program will be a panel dis cussion of the school music cur riculum, elementary througl junior college.

Her elbow-length veil of imported silk illusion was held in place by a Swedish crown of rock crystal and seed pearl. She carried an arm bouquet of red roses.

Her pearl pendant and earrings were gifts from the groom. Judy Finseth was maid ol honor and bridesmaid was Nan cy Poole. They wore floor-length dresses of scarlet red velveteen with matching satin cummer- btmds and matching accessories. They carried bouquets of red roses and shattered white mum; Kari Henderson of Audubon and Kristi Haugen of Elbow Lake flower girls, wore red velveteen gowns with satin sashes.
