But NBC's "The Cosby Show," which was on the air last week on Christmas Eve, was out of the top 10 for the second time this season and only the third time since its debut four seasons ago. It tied with NBC's "Family Ties" for 18th place in the rankings with a rating of 1 5.0 and a 38 share. The rating is a percentage of the nation's 88.6 million households with televisions. The share is a percentage of the audience viewing during a particular time period. It was a week of Christmas specials and reruns.

Forty-four out of the 68 shows rated were repeats. NBC won the week ending Dec. 27 with an average prime-time rating, of 1 3.4. CBS was second with a ABC was third with 1 1 .3. NBC has the season wrapped up with an average after 14 weeks of 16.1.

CBS and ABC continue to battle for second. CBS leads for the season with an average rating of 13.6 to ABC's 13.4. The bottom-rated shows were: "Rags to Riches," "Houston Knights," "Pursuit of Happiness," "Sable," "Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas," "Santabear's High-Flying Adventure," "The Homecom-, ing," "I Married Dora," "Full House," "The Room" and "Santa Claus, The Making of the Movie." "CBS Evening News" has now won all 14 weeks since the new season began and since the inception of "people meters," Nielsen's new push-button rating system. For the week ending Dec. 25, CBS had an average rating of 1 0.2 and a 22 share.

"NBC Nightly News" was -the closest it's been since the start of the season with a 9.9 and 22 share. ABC had a rating of 8.6 and an 18 share. Here are the prime-time rankings: 1.60 Minutes (CBS) 2.
