Artell Wallace and Mrs. R. Shearer entertained the members of the Service club Of the Presbyterian church at the Meyers home on Wednesday afternoon. A dessert luncheon was. served.

The program was planned by Mrs. Carlton Robb. Mrs. A. A.

Crissey reviewed the book "Gone With The Wind" by Margaret Mitchell. Sewing was also done by the club members. The Rev. and Mrs. A.

E. Mc-Kenney spent Monday in Chicago. A. T. Pruden returned to his home in Elgin on Saturday after spending the week at the home of his son, George Pruden.

Jack Fell of Chicago, is visiting his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Warner. George and Arthur Roberts of Chicago, were Monday visitors at the Roy Carmack home. Mrs.

Walter Krueger and son, Glenn Knapp, motored to Attica, on business Wednesday. They visited in the home of Mrs. Krue-ger's sister, Mrs. Otis Albertson. Mr.

and Mrs. George Pruden, Stanley Cain and son, Tommy, motored to Elein on Sundav. Miss Jean Osborne and Mr, and 4Mrs. Edwin Dean entertained the Past Matron's and Patron's club of Haven chapter at the "home of the latter last Thursday night. A pot luck dinner was served.

Seven tames of cards were in play. Prizes were won by Mrs, Clifford Kitchen and Willis Jobe high, and Mrs. Vivia Poyer and Raymond Hand, low. During the business meeting, Mrs. Fred Miller was re-elected president of the group and Roy Thomas was re-elected as secretary and treasurer.

A committee composed of Mrs. Ralph Mallory, Mrs. W. L. Miller, Raymond Hand and Edwin Dean, was appointed to dispose of the money on hand.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Baird and Mrs. Annis Swonguer will entertain the club at the next meeting in July.

Royal Neighbors Entertained Thirty-three people were present at the party given by Miss Mary Crissey at the F. S. Burt home on Saturday evening for the members of the Royal Neighbors and their families. Prizes for high score in five hundred were won by -Mi's. A.

L. Stewart and Otto Kehr. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Peck were awarded prizes for low score.

Monopoly was also played. Star Plans Luncheon The Annual Spring Luncheon and card party sponsored by Haven chapter O.E.S. will be held next Thursday afternoon at the Masonic hall. Luncheon will be served at one o'clock and card playing will follow. Plans are being made to decorate the hall in yellow and preen appropriate for spring." Entertainment will be provided during thr luncheon.

Tables will be arranged for auction and contract bridge and five and prizes will be award ed at each table. Mrs. A. L. Stewart is chairman oi the Kitcnen committee and is being assisted by Mrs.

H. E. Mey ers, Mrs. G. L.

Pruden, Mrs. Ro bert Brown and Mrs. Franklin Baird. The dining room and other ar rangements are in charge of Mrs. Willis Jobe, Mrs.

George Hance and Mrs. Charles Maguire. Mrs. Edwin Dean is in charge of the tickets. The luncheon has become an an nual spring event and indications are that it will be attended bv many out of town as well as local women this year.

League Holds The Harmony Epworth League met Monday evening at the home of Joseph McCartney. Harold Get- i ii i ty was in cnarge oi tne aevotions. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Merle McCartney. The next meeting will be field on May 10 at the home of Miss Leona Sue Smith- Mrs.

Patrick Gives Luncheon Mrs. R. M. Patrick will entertain the members of her contract club at a one o'clock luncheon today (Thursday) at her home. Have Grange Meeting The regular meeting of the Ri ley Grange will be held next Tuesday; evening in the Town hall at 8 o'clock.

Mrs. Becklinger Entertains Mrs. George Becklinger enter tained the members of the Coral Home Bureau at a pot luck dinner at her home on Wednesday. Twenty-nine people attended. Following the supper a meeting was held under the leadership of Miss Marie Johannes. Special music was furnished by the girls of the local Junior choir. Attend Farewell Dinner The Rev. and Mrs.

E. A. Nauss attended a farewell dinner in Harvard on Monday evening for the Rev. and Mrs. Martin Rupprecht.

Lutheran ministers and their wives in neighboring towns were the guests. The Reverend Rupprecht will assume the pastorate of a Chicago church in May. Attend Birthday Party Guests from Marengo at the birthday party for Mrs. Harvey Bremer of Sandwich given Friday evening by Mrs. Howard Dreymil-ler of Hampshire, were as follows Mrs.

Arthur Zickuhr at their home in Elgin. Junior Club Meets The Junior Woman's club will meet for a social evening at the H. Mary Cady Memorial house on Tuesday, April 20, at 8 o'clock. Have Dinner Guests Mr. and Mrs.

The program includes the regular annual business meeting, election of officers, introduction of honored guests, music and special talks. Home Bureau Meets Mrs. Clara Greaves Sweeney, Home Adviser, will discuss the stfbject "Making the Homemaker Physically Fit" at the meeting of the Home Bureau to be held next Tuesday afternoon at the White cafe.

A review of the book "The Rolling Years" will be given by Miss Miriam Warren. Oh Sunday afternoon, April 18, the McHenry County Home Bureau will sponsor a performance of Lulu Belle anefher show from Radio Station WLS at St. Mary's gymnasium in Woodstock. This is to be a benefit show. CCC's Meet Mr.

and Mrs. V. W. Bates were hosts to members of the CCC club at their home Saturday evening. In honor of his birthday, Roy Thomas was presented with a gift and a lighted birthday cake was served.

Following the pot luck supper, cards were played. Mrs. G. rruaen received nign score in bridge and Mr. Thomas and Mr; Bates were winners in cribbage.

Woman's Club Friday The Marengo Woman's club will meet at the H. Mary Cady Memo rial house Friday afternoon to hear Fannie B. Linderman talk on the subject, "Gardens Visited in Many The meeting is be ing planned by Mrs. J. A.

Eichler. chairman of the Garden depart ment. Robert Metzler, Chicago concert pianist, will play a group of piano solos. Aid Society Meets The Harmony Methodist Ladies' Aid society will meet next Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Coon.

A pot luck dinner will be served at noon. Mrs. Coon is in charge of the program. Is Honored Mrs. 'Fred Woleben of Eagle River, was guest of honor at an informal party given by Mrs.

J. A. Eichler and Miss Irene Eichler on Saturday evening. Mrs. Woleben and daughter, Sally, are visiting in the N.

Wingert and Mrs. Wayne Bennett will entertain the Home Circle at the H. Mary Cady Memorial house on Wednesday. The program committee is in charge of the program. Circle Members Hostesses The regular meeting of the Woman's society ol the Methodist church was held in the recreation rooms of the church on Wednesday afternoon with 7 Mrs.

Emory Thompson's circle hostesses. There was a program nd refreshments vrcre served. Give Tom Thumb Wedding The Keystone class of the Methodist church will sponsor a Tom Thumb wedding to be held on Friday evening, April 30, at 7:30 o'clock. Mrs. H.

P. Barnes is in charge of the production. She will be assisted by the teachers of the pri? mary department of the Sunday school. Mrs. R.

K. Hand will'be organist. Addresses Church Club George Rappich showed pictures and talked of his trip to Germany at the meeting of the young women of the Presbyterian church at the a'partment of Miss Lucille Ranseen and Miss Sylvia Anderson on Monday evening. B. L. Thomas at her home on East Grant Highway. Attend County Meeting Mrs. Willis Jobe, president of the Woman's club, and Fannie Linderman attended a McHenry County Woman's club meeting at Carv on Wednesday.

Vivia Poyer were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. McCoy of Rockford.

Give Dinner Party Mr. and Mrs. Willis Jobe enter tained relatives at a dinner party on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs.

Harold Cook of Logansport, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Behnke and daughter, Cheryl, spent the week-end at the Roy Carmack and Tom Dimon homes. Mrs. Cook is a sister of Mrs.

Carmack and Mr. Dimon. Mrs. Theodore Kelley and Mrs. Carlton Robb with their daughters, Ann Kelley and Trudie Ann Robb, attended "The Secret a child's play, presented by the Rockford Junior League in that city on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Dean spent Friday afternoon in Chicago on business and in the evening attended the circus with Dr. and Mrs. H.

R. Miller and sons. Mrs. S. P.

Olesen has been visiting in the home of her son, Ralph C. Olesen, in Harvard sincei last Friday. She expects to return on Sunday. Loyce Stock, who lives near Ottawa, spent last week visiting her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs.

S. P. Olesen. Mrs-. Robert Tittle of Elgin, was in Marengo on Tuesday.

C. Woodard home on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McCarthy and daughter of Elgin, spent Sun day in the S.

C. Wernham, home- Mrs. John Wernham left last week Wednesday evening for Harrisburg where she is staying at lersonaldtefns Mrs. Charles Havens motored to Chicago today (Thursday). She was accompanied by Mrs.

Joseph Guyette and daughter who have been visiting in the John Kitchen home. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dumproff and daughter, Alice Marie, visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs.

John Dumproff on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cook and Mr. and Mrs.

Bernard Behnke and daughter, Cheryl, of Logansport, Ind. were week-end guests of the former's sister and husband, Mr." and Mrs. Roy Carniack. Allen Alderman of Belvidere, who was also a guest, returned with them to Logansport for a few days visit. Mrs.

Rose Mulvey and Carl Kracht of Janesville, spent Sunday at the Tom Dimon home. Mrs. George Standish is planning to leave Saturday to spend the summer at her cottage at Sunset Bay, Dele van Lake, Wis. Guests in the Ellis R. Altwies homP on Sundav were Mr.

Stibgen. who spent the winter in Chicago, has returned to her apartment on East Washington street. The Rev. and Mrs. J.

Stewart Brown visited Mrs. Brown's aunt at Dixon on Tuesday. Fred Woleben, who has been in Milwaukee supervising an exhibit by the Forest Service at the National Flower show, will visit here before he and his family return to Eagle River, Wis. Mrs. Woleben will motor to Milwaukee for him on Sunday'.

Russell, who is sick. Mrs. J. A. Eichler spent Friday in Chicago, and in the afternoon attended the Garden and Flower Show at Navy Pier.
