1, 2000 at a local hospital. Elinor was born Sept. 1, 1915 to the late William Earl and Florence Marie (Otis) Doner in Boone, Iowa, and moved with her parents to Green Bay in 1932. She graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1933. Elinor worked at Leatham Smith Shipbuilding during World War II in the Radio Department.

In 1947, she married Myron J. Vannes and he died in 1994. She also worked at Lewis awards at State Art Shows. She also became known for her natural materials home decorations, which were displayed each summer at the Green Bay Farmers Markets. She enjoyed raising her materials in her front yard garden.

She was a member of Green Bay Art Colony, Arts Unlimited, and Fox Valley Artisans. Elinor also was a rock and mineral collector for over 30 years and belonged to the Please see Obituaries, B-6 until the funeral cortege leaves for church. Emil (Josephine) Mrs. Emil (Josephine) Smits, 88, who formerly lived on Ontario De Pere, died Jan. 2, 2000, at a local nursing home. Josephine was born May 17, 1911, in the town of Rockland, to the late Michael and Antoinette (Quatsoe) Martin. The former Josephine Martin married Emil Smits on June 1, 1935 at St.

Francis. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1981. Prior to marriage, she worked in retail sales at Penneys and later at H.C. Prange Co. Josephine was a long time member of St.

Francis Catholic Church and had been an active member of the nisi children, Tom Stevens, Jr. and his daughter, Spencer, Marion (Mark) Jimos and their children, Sean, Tesia and Sophia, Francis "Joe" Stevens, Sarah Cannon and her daughters, Kali and McKenzie, Anne Stevens, Patrick Stevens; and one brother, George Patrick Martin, Sun Prairie. Josephine is preceded in death by two brothers, Michael "Ross" Martin and Jerome Martin; and two sisters, Marian "Gen" Bailey and Helen Hein. Friends may call at the Ryan 1 Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Stli De Pere, Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Visitation will continue Wednesday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Funeral at 10:30 a.m; with the Rev. Tony Dolski offici- ating.

Leo (Marcella) Urban, 86, Green Bay passed away Jan. 2, 2000. She was born on July 6, 1913, to the late Martin and Ella (Molle) Brezinski. Marcella married Leo Urban on Nov. 29, 1934, at St.

Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Green Bay. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia and Jack Schmit, Manning, S.C.; Sandra Sell, Oneida; her son and daughter-in-law, Clark and Donna Urban, Mohnton, ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nora Donovan, Denmark; nieces and nephews.
