Fourth grade winners with Mrs. Emma Mae Midkirk as teacher were Joe Darmon, Charles Hendrickson, Danny Cox, Kathy Wych, Selia Perez, Sandra Hyser, Bonnie Ver Hagen, Debbie miisussiiasfasias sixth graders included girls' and boys' broad jumps; 100 yard dash for both groups; high jumps, a sack race and three-legged race.

Winners were Kathy Cox, Karen Feldman, Pam Carlson, Tony Hyser, Jim Marrs, Mike Knott, Edward Kohl, Rena Nelson, Don Sadewater, Carol Hoffman, Debbie Knake, Ada Pilgrim. In the final long distance race, Tony Hyser, Jim Marrs and Steve Kerchner were winners. A special assembly was held at Kishwaukee school to award field day prizes and to observe the Illinois Sesquicentennial May 28. Principal Denver Foltz, teachers, and the music teachers, Mrs. Vera Jackson, Mrs.

Nancy Lon-gardner, and Mrs. Lloyd Carmi-chael, participated in leading the program. A song-fest was held. The first graaers and teacher, Mrs. Corleta Steuer made a large cardboard cake with 150 candles, symbolizing the sesquicentennial anniversary of Illinois which has been on display at the school hall.

Bye, Debbie Bergeron, Connie! Camp, Cindy Wych, Sarah Turner, Gary Riley, Charles Klinefelter, Jeff Yerk, Shelly Cox, Donald Skilling and Harold Var-ble. Second year primary pupils field day winners whose teachers are Mrs. Carol Sisson and Mrs. Patricia Kretsch, were, Robert Feldman, Floyd Riley, Sam Cox, Cassie Jo Crum, Karol Weichman, a Schwebke, Jeff Hendrickson, Antonio Garza, Steven Hyser, Leslie Carlson, Cheryl Darmon, Dana Anderson, John Schwebke, Danny Yerk, Alex Perez, Jean Vangies-en, David Sipe, Lucy Chavira and Candy Barnes. Winners in Mrs.

Richard Hoffman's class of Kishwaukee School Observes Illinois Sesquicentennial; Award Field Day Prizes Due to bad weather, contests were not held at the annual school picnic May 28 at Kishwaukee School. They have been held at intervals during gym periods at the school.

Mrs. Marjorie Stenerson is teacher of morning and afternoon sessions of kindergarten. Contests included running races, wheelbarrow races, jump-the-creek, sack races and high jump. Winners for both sessions were Rodney Wares, Kathy Knott, Verne Sisson; Kerry Camp, Donna Hyser, Billy Casey; David Nord, Diana Ras-mussen; Denise Boyer, Holly Af-feld, Noemi Garza, Sue Kieser; Dougie Dold, Kerry Camp, Connie Shilling, Jody Harrison. Additional winners were Debbie Feldman, Theresa Nolan, John Steurer, and Beverly Myers.

Pupils of Primary 1 taught by Mrs. Frances Ford and Mrs. Cor-leta Steurer had similar contests with these winners. The Uphoff family attended commencement at Franklin Grove high school Friday evening where Christine Uphoff, niece of Uphoff, was a graduate. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Uphoff. Birthdays of Christie Miller, 11, and her sister, Anne, 15, were celebrated Sunday at the home of their grandparents, Mr.

and Mrs. Ernest Miller. A joint birthday cake was served. Members of the family and Mr. and Mrs.

Charles Cunningham and family of 416 Douglas Street, were guests. The Cunninghams moved Saturday to a home they purchased. Mrs. Alva McMaster just received a letter from her sister, Mrs. Harley (Jerry) Fritz of Fayette in northeast Iowa where a recent tornado hit.

She enclosed a news special edition of tornado pictures. A small town of Maynard, Iowa, 4 miles from the Fritz home, bore the brunt of the storm with many homes and places of business demolished. One photo showed three school buses which were hit a grim reminder of the April 21, 1967 tornado in this area. However, these school buses were parked and empty. Only two deaths were reported but there are many injured and damage is estimated at hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A restaurant, Pine Lodge, was demolished. Enroute to visit her sister, April- 21, 1967, Mrs. Master and party ate at this place. They haard reports of the tornado that hit the Bel-videre area while there. A chicken broast with home baked beans will be held Sunday, June 9, beginning at 11 a.m.
