These increases were made necessary by the recent settlement reached with Local 47, Buildincp Service and Maintenance Union, and cover only employees thttt they represent, as well as raises to be granted by the Association; to certain non-union employees. It does not include those at the management level or the registered nurses. It is to be assumed thof additronaT'increases in room and bed rates will take place when a settlement increasing employee costs for the Registered Nurses is negotiated for them.

The Youngstown'Hospital Association is now negotiating with the Ohio State Nurses Association which represents the General Duty nurses. The bed rate schedule now in effect at hospital units is: private semi-private-beds ward The cost of the settlement with Local 47 and the raises to be granted other non-gnion employees comes to $1,172,000 in the first year of a two-year'contract. The two hospital units will experience a similar additional increase in costs again next year, and at that time, it can be anticipated that patient charges will be increased to cover this of additional cost.
