Douglas-Snodgrass Vows Exchanged Mrs. Laura Douglas of Glenwood, formerly of Emerson, and Ora Snodgrass of Council Bluffs were married Sunday, Jan. 25 at 4 p. m. in a candle light ceremony in the Epworth Methodist church with about 60 guests present.

The Rev. Gerald' LaMotte performed the double ring ceremony. Miss Evelyn Marshall was the organist and Mrs. Robert Griffin sang They "Recause" were and attended "The Lord's Prayer." by Mrs. Dorothy Abels of Council Bluffs and Mr.

Harold Gottwals of Omaha. The bride and Mrs. Ahels were both dressed in blue jackets, dresses and white hats. Glen Confer Jr. and Jack E.

Confer, both of Red Oak and nephews of the bride, were ushers. Following the ceremony, A reception was held at the home of Mrs. Dorothy Abels. Mrs. Morris Evans and Mrs.

Glen Ashby of Red Oak poured at the serving table, which was overlaid with a hand crocheted table cloth and lighted pink tapers, The colors of pink and white were used through out in the bride's and her attendant's flowers and in the refreshments. The Rev. Mr. Person read the following life sketch: James Rohert Simmonds was born June 25, 1917 to James William and Ida Simmonds at Henderson. He attended school a at Henderson. He was united in marriage to June lon March 10, 1938.

To this union Springer ten children were born. He has spent his entire life in the Henderson and Emerson arca except for a short time when he and his family lived in Colorado. Mr. Simmonds was a member of the Methodist church of Henderson. He served his country in the Navy during World War II.

He passed away suddenly at his (home near Emerson on Monday, Jan. 19, 1959. He was employed by the Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of by children, his wife June of Emerson; his Roger, Ronnie, Saundra, Virginia. Linda, David, Mike, Rita 'and Tommie all of Emerson; three hrothers, Wayne of Hancock, Maurice of Lansing, Joe of Golden, eight sisters, Mrs.

Alta Forristall of Macedonia, Mrs. Ida Guyer of Hancock, Mrs. Jean Vendengia and Mrs. Helen Colbourn of Denver, Mrs. Pauline Whitmire, Mrs.

Fern Filers, Mrs. Ora Mrsny and Mrs. Lenora Jones all of Omaha: one aunt and two uncles and a number of cousins besides a great host of friends. The entire community will miss Mr. Simmonds in his passing.

Burial was in Farm Creek tery at Henderson with Mansfield's Funeral Home in charge. Jay Barns received a cut the head while coasting. Tsch!
