Olaf College historian says in a book to be published Monday. Erling Jorstad wrote "That New-Time Religion: The Jesus Revival in America," to be published by Augsburg Publishing House, Minneapolis. The Jesus revival caught on, Jorstad says, when large numbers of youths decided that "only a sweeping revival could save their country from its course of self-destruction." The book explains the movement as several separate but parallel revivals taking place at the same time. The most publicized are former drug-addict teen-agers who have turned to revival. Two other equally strong movements, according to Jorstad, are the large number of evangelical college students, and well-educated young adults, both of whom want to see more enthusiasm and warmth restored to church life.

Jorstad concludes that i 9.45 A.M.-Church Shool immmmmmmmmmmm 'NixonV paotor will give talk The Rev, John A. Huffman pastor of Key Bis-cayne (Fla.) "The established churches which continue to ignore the young people will find themselves increasingly isolated from the under-30 group," Jorstad says. "The revivalists, meanwhile, who cut themselves off from the standing churches are denying themselves the great resources of 1,900 years of Christianity." The author urges both groups to "talk openly and often with one another in hopes of reconciliation."
