Michael Winters celebrated his 10th birth-' day on Feb. 22, and George Wallace his 11th birthday on Feb. Both hoys treated 15. Michael served cup cakes and George bars.

Sixth and Seventh: We have parakeet in our room. We voted to name him Perry. We are ing a contest to see who can keep the neatest desk, and not run in the hall. The person who has the highest score at the end of the year wins Perry. Eighth grade: The Ir.

High basketball tournament is at Hastthis week. The girls played Strahan Monday and the boys, played Pacific Junction We have been having six weeks tests and are glad to start a new six weeks. Freshmen: We have a new girl in our class, Patty Bird. In eral science we are studying about different materials. 1n Stath we are studying aboue equations.

Sophomore: The Home Ec girls are serving the school board and their wives supper tonight. The menu to chicken, escalloped potatoes, rolls, corn, Harvard beets and cream puffs. A class Darrell Plumb, transferred to Carson. Junior: A supper was held at the home of Norma McGee Feb. in honor of Richard Hackett, harry Achenbaugh and Lewis Steiner.

Richard is leaving us, harry is 81 new student, and we were thanking Lewis for taking 11 part in our class play. Senior: Monday, Fob. 21. the Senior class went to Red Oak to soil ads for the annual. We divid-: into two groups -o 15 could cover Biore territory, bust were! very disappointed because we sold very few ads.

maining here but short time. they returned to the farm near Carson. After receiving her education, she taught at several of the conntry schools in the Carson community. was united in marriage to John Ayer of Henderson on Nov. 25.

1694. Since 1901 they have lived on a farm 5 miles west of Henderson. Their first home ing 12 mile north of where the home is now located. Mrs. Ayer was formerly a mem-1 ber of the Carson Christian, church and the Lone Star Chris- I tian church which WaS located west of Macedonia, and at the time of her passing she was member of the Henderson Chris-: tian Church.

On Feb. 22 she became serious-! ly ill and was taken to the Mur-leandy phy Memorial hospital at Red Oak where she passed away on Feb. 24. Two sisters and five brothers preceded her in Ruth and l'hoehe of Carson; James of Houston. Joe of Carson, Richard of Cupar, John of Los Angeles and of t'pton, Wyo.

She is survived by her husband John of Henderson, three daugh-lines ters, Mrs. Hazel ('raft and Mrs. I Marjorle Turner ot Henderson, and Mra. Agnes McKenzie of Car-! son. Also 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

One brother. Mugh McSweeney and many, Lother relatives and friends. They were both improved when Mrs. Crouse came home. McFarland of Red Oak was a Monday dinner guest of his sister. Mrs. Frank Crouse.

Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Grindle were Thursday afternoon visitors off Charles Wright at Thurman. Mrs. Tom White visited in the Lawrence and Marion White homes at Tabor Thursday while Mr.

White attended the sale. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Briley and Mrs. Ellis Grindle attended the funeral of Mrs.

Joe lowery at Thurman Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Knop of visitors the Rob't Blunt home. were Sunday evening Sandra Greever WAS an over Thursday night guest of Sherry Blunt.

The Marion White family of Tabor Were Thursday supper! guests in the parental Tom White home. Mrs. Charles Kayton received letter from the Rev Halls of Chariton stating that Mrs. Hall was home nfter two weeks hospitalization in Methodist hospital in Des Moines after a major operation and was slowly convales. cing.

Mrs. Zeno Bass who has been a patient nt Hand hospital in Shenandoah for the past week expects to be released after complications of du. Dale Nims of Malvern WAS Friday dinner guest of his parents. the Henry L. Nims.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wagoner of Glenwood. Bob Fisher of Omaha and Jan Fleming of Griswold were Sunday dinner guests in the Robert Shaul home. Mr.

and Mre. W. Costello were Thursday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will Buttenhoff in Red Oak.

The Ralph Costello family of Randolph, Randy and Linda, children of the Lynn Costellos, were Sunday afternoon visitors in the W. It. Costello home. Mr. and Mrs.

James Fogle returned two weeks ago to their home in Council Bluffs, after sev-! eral months in the home of Mrs. Fogle's daughter, Mre. Gilbert McCain. From th. Tabor Beacon Services were held Tuesday atternoon At the Reaves funeral home for Mrs.

Frank Hammers, who passed away on Friday after (an illness of several years. The Rev. William Lee officiated. Soloist was Mrs. Lisle Weatherhead, accompanied by Miss Blanch Dalton.

Pallbearers were Paul Morical, Kelbert Miller, Paul Glynn, Richard Christopher, Carroll Alstrope and Clyde Aistrope. Honorary pallbearers were Vern Matthews, Tom Grosse, George Madison, Walter Glynn, Ralph Jones and Silas In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Paul Morrical. Mrs. Richard Christopher, Mrs.

Clyde Aistrope. Mrs. Carl Fulton, Mrs. Vern thewa, Mrs. Kelbert Miller, Mra.

Ralph Jones, Mrs. George Madison and Mrs. Flora Bain. Elizabeth Ellen Brading, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Brading, was born March 1, 1880 upon a farm four miles northeast of Tabor. Here she grew to womanhood and here on March 6, 1901 she was united in marriage to Frank Hammers.

After 3 few years spent on neighboring farms in Milis and Fremont counties, and Mrs. Hammers came to the home farm to live in 1917; here she spent the rest of her life, and here, after an fliness of several days, she passed away quietly in her sleep Feb. 2, just one day before her 78th birthday. Her entire life was spent in this community, 62 years of it upon the same home place. She was known and respected by a wide circle of friends.

Two children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hammers, both of whom survive: Cloid Brading Hammers of Los Angeles, and Vesta Roberta Ruse of Tabor. There also survive tour grandchildren, Cloid B. Hammers and Catherine Eliz'abeth Hammers of Los Angeles, land Peggy Ruse Perkins and Larry Ruse of Tabor; two great grandchildren and one sister, Edna Brading Genson of Dea Moines.

One brother, R. W. Irading, preceded her in death. When a young girl, Mrs. Hammers united with the Christian church.

She was long 8 member of the Social Neighbors Club. To these organizations she gave active support as long as her health permitted. She was a true homemaker, always devoted to her family, and their welfare was the aim of her life of service. Interment WAR in the Tabor cemetery. Ph.
