SAVING THE BABIES PARADE PLANS ARE MADE BY KLANSMEN Citizens who live in communities apathetic to their infant death rate should consider carefully the results of the cooperative rural health work now being carried on in Green County, A report just received by the United States Public Health Service at Washington, shows -a remark- a ble reduction in the: infant mortality rate in Springfield and Campbell townships since the- establishment there of a whole-time county health department. In 1U.18 the death rate in these- two Missouri townships was 105 per thousand. That is, out of every 1,000 babies born alive, 105 died in that year.

Then Green county decided it Saturday night, August 11, will be "Ku Klux Klan night" in Joplin. On that date, the organization will stage a parade in honor of Dr. Hiram Westley Evans, imperial wizard could no longer afford to continue SALE OPENS Our oprntd this morning with nitfiutiailic in all department. Taylor Snnpp and Chief of Police P. who received separate requests from Oxark Klan No.

3. The parade will be followed by a unmindful of baby death rate and a health department was organized. In the following year 1019, the in-i fant death rate in these two ships dropped to 96 per thousand.j In 1920 it went to 85, in 1921 to 76 and in 1922 the decline reached 61. In othf-r words Springfield and Camp-! bell townships reduced their infant mortality rate 42 per cent within, the' short space of four years. This 42 per cent reduction furnishes a striking example of what may be accomplished in infant welfare by carrying out, with economy and efficiency, a well balanced general program of health work affect- Chiropractic Demonstration Foul- ported The.
