Expansion of church proposed By Alice Paulsen Press-Gazette A multipurpose addition may be in the future for Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 Ridge Road. The church council and executive committee are looking into a $1.3 million expansion and renovation project after a building review panel studied possible needs for the next five years, said Bill Harper, council president. A proposal will be presented to church members early in 1992. "The whole decision rests with the congregation," Harper said.

The preliminary plan is for a two-story addition on the east side of the church. It includes 30 classrooms, because space for Sunday school is a priority, a meeting room that would seat 350, three offices, workroom and conference room, Harper said. The kitchen in the church's lower level would be relocated. If members approve it, construction probably would start in 1993, Harper said. Projections indicate church membership will increase to 2,500 from about 2,300 over the next five vppr.
