It would Include specific finance anil route recommendations for the first 19 miles to be completed by 1980.

John Jamleson, transit development director for the Transit Commission, said the cost of the first leg as estimated by a consultant is $2U7 million. The Transit Commission will net as overall director of the project, with Its consultants and the professional staffs of each Interested municipality working on specific layouts. The final plan will be reviewed by the Transportation Management Committee, made up of highway, municipal, county and metropolitan officials, and by the Metropolitan Council before presentation to the 1971 Minnesota Legislature. Officials of the City of Minneapolis, the Metropolitan Transit Commission and the Metropolitan Council ironed out their differences Thursday over the extent to which each should bo involved In developing a metropolitan rail rapid transit plan.
