Surviving are his wife, Floride Booker Austin of the home; three daughters, Adelia Foster of Wellford, Frances Day of Whitesburg, Ky. and Marie Martin of Manchester, two sons, H.D. Austin Jr. and Samuel J. Austin, both of Wellford: four brothers, E.T.

Austin of Spartanburg, W.B. Austin and J.R. Austin, both of Wellford and E.G. Austin of Duncan; and a sister, Ethel Owens of Startex. Services: 2 p.m.

Thursday at the Wood Mortuary with burial in Wood Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. The family is at the home. Gertrude Barnett LAURENS Gertrude Barnett, 87, formerly of 830 1 W.

Main died Monday. She was a secretary for the Virginia State Hospital in Williamsburg, and the secretary for the Southern State Lumber Co. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Laurens where she was the general secretary of the Sunday School for 44 years. There were no immediate survivors. Services: 11 a.m.

Breazeale TRAVELERS REST David William Breazeale, 62, of Route 5, died Monday. He was a retired plumber and pipe fitter and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Breazeale of the home; five sons, Charles Breazeale of Simpsonville, Leonard Breazeale of Dacusville, David Allen Breazeale of Travelers Rest and Keith Breazeale and Lee Breazeale, both of the home; two daughters, Jo Ann Williams of Travelers Rest and Susan Breazeale of the home; his stepfather, D.P. McCarter Greenville; a brother, Charles McCarter of Travelers Rest; and a sister, Anna Laurie Fleming of Greer.

James V. Dyer UNION James Vinson Dyer, 70, of 525 Thompson died Tuesday. He was a retired electrician, owner and former operator of Dyer's Electrical Shop and was a member of Putman Baptist Church. Born in Greenville, S.C., he was the son of the late Issac Walter and Ida Smith Cooper. He was a printer having retired after 36 years of service to Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company. Mr. Cooper was a former member and Steward of St. John's United Methodist Church of Rock Hill and more recently of the Trinity United Methodist Church in North Myrtle Beach, having served on the Grounds and Property Committee.

Surviving his wife, Marie Curry Cooper of North Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Mrs. Nettles A. (Carolyn) Myers, of Rock Hill; three brothers, Weldon Cooper of Simpsonville, Carlos Cooper of Mauldin, and Charles Cooper of Augusta, three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Grace) Belcher of Travelers Rest, Mrs. George (Mattie) Hughes of Taylors and Mrs.

James (Bessie) Connelly of Greenville; and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church at North Myrtle Beach with Dr. John M. Freeman officiating.

HARLEY MONROE James Harley Monroe, 75, of 32 Skyland Drive, Locust Grove, Georgia, husband of Lillie Liddell Monroe, died Monday. Bron in Greenville, S.C., December 13, 1908, he was the son of the late Roger and Victoria King Monroe.

He had lived in Greenville until two years ago when he moved to Georgia a to live with his son. He was a retired employee of Woodside Mill, and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, William E. Monroe of Locust Grove, Ga. and Jerry Glenn Monroe of Forest Park, two daughters-in-law, Mrs.

Sherry Monroe of Locust Grove, and Mrs. Betty Monroe of Forest Park, six grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home by Rev. James Cason.

VELDEE E. KING Piedmont. Veldee Edward King, 71, of Route 7, Highway 17, husband of Willie Cole King, died Tuesday morning at Anderson Memorial Hospital. Born in Piedmont, he was the son of the late Edward and Mourning Moore King. He was a retired dairy farmer, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, White Plains Masonic Lodge and the Anderson County Farm Bureau.

Surviving is his wife of the home; daughters, Mrs. H.A. (Betsy) Griffith of Williamston and Mrs. Richard (Buddy) Cates of Nashville, Piedmont; his a son, brother, Wade J.D. King of Piedmont; a sister, Mrs.

Gary (Mae) Owen of Piedmont; five grandchildren, Mourning Motes, Vickie Wells, Meg Griffith, Michelle. King, and Renee King; and one great Leigh Motes. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Robinson and Rev.

The family is at the residence. HARLEY ALBERT MCABEE Greer. Harley Albert McAbee, 68, of 247 Cannon Street, died Monday. A native of Greenville county, son of the late Sonkey and Mary Duncan McAbee. He was a member of Washington Baptist Church and a retired employee of Daniel Construction Company.

Surviving are his wife, Ellen Adkins McAbee of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Sara Barnette and Mrs. Mary Cantrell, both of Greer, Mrs. Ann Bates of Landrum, Mrs. Jeanette Kelly of Greenville, and Mrs.

Born in Westminster, he was a son of Rufus Waters of Greenwood and the late Ollie Smith Waters. He was a retired instructor with the White Horse Plant of J.P. Stevens Company. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God and previously attended the First Assembly of God. Also surviving are four daughters, Jencey Waters and Melinda Waters of the home, Mrs.

Leslie (Tootsie) Leary of Greenwood and Mrs. Robert (Derrill) Holden of Greenville; a son, Yogi Wayne Waters of the home: his Stepmother, Mrs. Beulah Waters of Greenwood; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Genora) Cater of Seneca; a halfsister, Mrs. Shirley (Elizabeth) Morgan of Greenwood; and three grandchildren, Camille Waters of the home and Scott and Nan Holden of Greenville.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 PM at First Assembly of God by Rev. T. L. Grey, Rev. M.

O. Turner and Rev. Kenneth Owen. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jerry Melton, Bud Cothran, David Ellison, Jack Simmons, Bob Gibson and Charles Mullinix.

Caroline Skelton ANDERSON Caroline Skel- ton, 81, of 1313 North Boulevard, died Monday.

She was a retired school teacher and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. P.D. (Mable) Skelton of Anderson; two nieces, Mrs.

H.F. (Rose Pearl) Thompson of Miami, Fla. and Mrs. H. Winslow (Mary) Fagg of Belton; and a nephew, George Alexander Skelton of Anderson.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Thursday in Old Silver Brook Cemetery. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan-King Mortuary. The family requests that flowers be omitted.

ALTON TAYLOR Fountain Inn. Robert Alton Taylor, 77, of 309 North Weston Street, Tuesday at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Fountain Inn, son of the late James Robert and Elizabeth Andrews Taylor and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he taught the Men's Bible Class for a number of years. He was a graduate of Clemson University Class of 1929 with a B.S. degree in Agriculture and was a Charter Member of Alpha Zeta Fraternity and received his Master's degree in Science from N.C.

State in 1932. He taught Agriculture for 16 years at Lylesville, N.C. High School and was named State Master Teacher of Agriculture. He also taught Science at Hillcrest High School for 11 years. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Meachum Taylor; two sons, Robert Alton Taylor, Jr.

of Fountain Inn and James Hancock Taylor of Lancaster; a brother, James M. Taylor of Fountain Inn; two sisters, Elizabeth and Virginia Taylor, both of Fountain Inn; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Cannon Funeral Home conducted by Dr. William T.
