While John Alexander was taking oats from the loft of an old barn one day last weelt, the floor gave way, causing him a terrible fall, resulting in a sprained back.

He is still sick abed, but seems to be improving. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Austin of Tulsa are visiting in Newtonia and Stark City this week.

Gordon Hale, Harold Lemaster and James Van Horn made a business trip to Joplin, Tuesday to see about purchasing a snare drum for the high school orchestra. Mrs. Zentha Baker and small daughter, Bonnie Louise, were visiting her father, J. McKartzle, and sisters, Hazel and Jessie, last week. The meeting at Stark City is still continuing with a large attendance.

KXDDOO SCHOOL A new Ro-Around haa been added to the playground equipment. Paul B. Crawford has donated an acre of his land to the school for 'more playground. The agriculture class spent two hours watching the filling of a silo at Jeff. Ueal's barn last Wednesday.

The attendance at school this term is so large that every seat Vn the school but one is filled. W. G. Cam field has been sick for the last few days, but is reported some better at present. The girls of the 4-H club met at tho home of Miss Alice Shannon Saturday.

Jack Gamble, our local canning factory manager, is shipping the fourth car of tomatoes this week. He has about as many in stock as he has shipped and the factory is still running two and three days each week.

The tomatoes in this section have done -well considering the dry weather. Mr. and Mrs. Earl O'Clair left Friday for their home in Phoenix, Arizona, after a month visit with friends and relatives in this community. Mr.
