Surviving also are daughters, Dale Watkins of Campobello and Ann Tucker of Inman; sons, Gary and Steve Peeler of Campobello; a brother, Hollis Peeler of Boiling Springs; and six Grand children. Petty Funeral Home. Bertha Quinn COWPENS Bertha Lindsey Quinn, 80, of Church Street, widow of Ulysess L. Quinn, died Saturday. A native of Spartan burg County, she was a member of Cowpens First Baptist Church. Surviving are a grand child and three great grandchildren.

Stephen Smith SPARTANBURG Stephen Craig Smith, 36, of 106 Pearson husband of Patricia Cole Smith, died Monday. A native of Spartan burg, son of Rebecca Casey Hobis of Mariett Island, and the late Robert F. Smith, he was a General Homes contractor and furniture repairman and a member of Hill Top Fire Depart ment and Northview Baptist Church, where he was an honorary deacon. Surviving are a son, Kevin Lynn Smith of the home; a sister, Mrs. John Venice of Mariett Island.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at North-view Baptist Church; Complaint at Stevens J. P. Stevens Co. said Monday that a complaint of unfair labor practices at one of its plants in South Carolina has been withdrawn by the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers.

The textile company said the complaint, filed in February, alleged that the working conditions of two employees at the Watts plant in Laurens were changed unlawfully because the workers supported union organizing efforts. Ihe complaint alleged the men were worked harder, watched closely' on the job, not given emergency messages and not given time off tor Illness, Stevens said. The company's state-- ment, released in New York, said an investigation by the National Labor Relations Board Burrell, Judy w. Mann and Betty W. Mann and Diane W.

William Wood William Franklin Wood, 71, of 1501 Au- gusta Greenville, died Sunday. A fifelone resident of Greenville, he was a re tired postal clerk at the main Post ottice, a member of the U.S. Civil Service Commission and the American Postal Union and a communi cant of St. James Ep iscopal uiurcn. Surviving is his wife, Annie Ross Wood.

Leonard Desmond GREENWOOD Leo nard Joseph "Lynn" Desmond 73, of 107 Cherry Court, died Sun day. Born in Norwich, he was a retired employee of Park Davis Greenwood Plant and a member of Park Davis Good Fellowship Club and Our Lady ot Lourdes Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Catholic Men's Club and an honorary life member of White Cross Council No. 13 of the Knights of Columbus. Grady Wilson Grady Walter Wilson, 55, of 26 Gardenia Drive, a retired foreman for Triangle Construction died Monday. A native of Salem, son of the late Robert and Mattie Shepherd Wilson, he was a member of Roanoke Baptist Church in Pickens County. Surviving are his wife, withdrawn plant apparently developed no evidence to support the charge.

Stevens called the withdrawal by the union "a clear admission that the charges had no merit." Harold Mclver, a tex tile union director based in Charlotte, told The Greenville News that the withdrawal was "no big deal. "There are hundreds of charees filed aeainst Stevens, and hundreds of things they ve done to tneir worKers, he said. "That we withdrew one little thine is no bie deal. It doesn't' negate the fact they ve been found guilty of all these other things." The NLRB confirmed that the comolaint was withdrawn May 12 at the Doara oitice in wins ton-Salem, N.C. restaurant on Highway to the public.

Earlier Thursday, Finch will ioin Youne and 4th Congressional District GOP hopeful Robert Watkins of Greenville in speaking to the noon meeting at Colonial Court of the Greenville County Re nuhliean Women's Club. A native Of Sumter, son of the late Lewis Lafayette and Georgia Mae Swittenberg Hunter, he was a retired commander with the U.S. Navy and a World War II veteran. Surviving are a daugh ter, Cheryl Pomeroy of Fort Devin, sons, Lewie A. Hunter of Nor man, and K. Con rad Hunter of Atlanta, Ga.

Judson Johnson SALUDA William Judson Johnson, 80, of Route 3, died Monday in Edgefield. Born in saiuda County, he was a retired farmer, a World War I veteran and a member Of the American.
